Around two thirds of the pitches are occupied by static homes, which are mainly located at the back of the site. We received a very friendly welcome in German and were able to choose a pitch... in a specific area. Our pitch was very large at approx. 10 x 12m. Well-kept lawn, reasonably level and lots of tall trees. Barbecues with charcoal are understandably not allowed because of the forest. In mid-May we paid 17.50 for a mobile home with 2 people including electricity plus 1.25 tourist tax per person and 2.50 per dog. The showers are free of charge. Please note that the power connections are only fused with 4 amps! There is currently no WiFi, but it is being installed in the street and should be available soon. The campsite has several exits that lead directly into the forest. There are 2 restaurants and a McDonald's within walking distance. Hiking tip: Coming from the CP, turn left over the railroad tracks. Then walk another 200m until you see a small parking lot on the right-hand side of the road. From there, take the path into the forest and after about 300m you will come to a gate on the left with the sign "Weidevieh" (sheep) Go through it and always follow the white posts. On the way back, before you cross the railroad tracks, you can take a path to the right of the tracks. After about 1300m you reach the restaurant "Pilgrimshuis" with a very cozy terrace. The hiking trail is less suitable for cyclists as it often consists of soft sand. Distance approx. 6km plus 2.5km for the detour to the restaurant.Automatically translated.
