"Great place, difficult operators - The Hohes Rad campsite is a beautifully situated site with an adjacent entrance to the Diemelsee lake. The pitches are mostly flat and of a good size. Everything is really clean, even if the sanitary facilities are getting on in years. Nevertheless, you feel comfortable and can't complain about the functionality of the washing facilities. There is even a washing machine and dryer. Dogs are tolerated and are allowed on the pitch on a lead. However, they should also be kept on a permanent lead on their own pitch. There is a large playground and a bar on the adjacent beach. There is also a dog beach a few meters away. Later in the evening, however, you quickly notice that the clientele on the beach changes. We no longer felt so comfortable there. The price of the place was also very interesting (in a positive sense). We were surprised how inexpensive the stay was. The only thing we didn't like and unfortunately, despite the many positive things, we won't be visiting the Hohe Rad again is the way it is run. You almost feel like you're being watched... If something was noticed that was not desired (the neighbors' dog was not leashed immediately after leaving the Wowa but only three meters later), it was noted quite directly and in an unfriendly manner. This is just an example. If the type of operator were to change, the site would certainly be almost fully booked.

"We liked it very much - Friendly reception. Nice place for couples and seniors. Everything you need is there. Can't understand some of the reviews about rudeness. Normal campers who don't need "glamping" are in good hands here.

"Camping with 2 dogs - We had the perfect vacation with our two dogs! The campsite was quiet, lots of space, super clean facilities and very nice operators! Absolutely recommendable... The dog beach is right in front of the site and simply a beautiful lake... Ideal for relaxing and hiking... We would give 10 out of 5 points 😄

"Simply great with dogs - The owners are super friendly and the lake is just right for our two dogs. The dog beach is 5 minutes away. We had a super nice, large pitch and will definitely be back. Cycling around the lake is great fun. Because of Corona, the sanitary facilities were closed, but if you have a toilet and shower on board, that's no problem.

"with attention to detail - I spent 10 days on the site with my 2 dogs. The operators are friendly and helpful. The place is super well maintained with attention to small details. Sanitary always clean. Nearest supermarket 7 km away. I can recommend the site without reservation.

"Very nice place - We have stayed here several times with our daughter (5 years). Very nice location, playground on the nearby beach. We've been here a few times. The site is always clean, the sanitary facilities are getting on in years but are fine. We would love to come back. Ps: not suitable for larger groups of 3/4 cars or more, as great importance is attached to peace and quiet. Better leave the music at home.
