"Campsite in Staffelsee with very friendly permanent campers - As there is no bridge to the island, camping on the Buchau is very quiet and relaxed. We go there every few years for a long weekend with our canoe paddler. The water is clean and good for swimming from several bays.

"Beautiful - We have been here several times with our tent over the last 10 years. The location is unique and you experience a very special "Buchau feeling". But if you're looking for comfort, luxury, etc., you're in the wrong place. There is everything you need, but nothing more. Only 1-2x more jetties for mooring and a somewhat better maintained tent meadow would be desirable. But otherwise 5 out of 5 :-)

"Beautiful place in the lake - The ferry D'Fischerin runs from Seehausen to Buchau every 80 minutes from 10am. There are no cars, a nice landlord, many permanent campers who occupy and enliven the shore. There are a few tent pitches and it is rather cramped and very lively. The sanitary facilities are perfectly ok. For us paddlers, the lake is the most beautiful in Upper Bavaria, the restaurant on the Buchau is simple but delicious. You can easily get to the mainland with the fisherwoman, departure times are also on the internet, or even better, you have your own boat.

" - The campsite is located on an island in the Staffelsee and can only be reached by boat. No vehicles are allowed, so it is a campsite for tents only. Perfect for relaxing, no roads nearby, but the only leisure activity is swimming in the Staffelsee, which is also pleasantly warm in summer. If you want to experience more, you have to cross over to the mainland, which is approached every few hours.

Keine Lust mehr ständig auf Freitag zu warten…? …dann ist die Campinginsel Buchau im Staffelsee genau das richtige für Sie. Hier können Sie nämlich die ganze Woche von Montag bis Sonntag von April bis Oktober entspannen. Das Gute daran: Sie …müssen sich aber nicht einsam fühlen denn unser idyllischer Biergarten sowie die einladende Gaststube bieten jede Menge Möglichkeiten für nette Gesellschaft bei Speiß‘ und Trank aus der Region. Sollten Sie es allerdings vorziehen ganz á la Robinson Crouse den Sonnenaufgang über dem Staffelsee alleine zu bewundern, können Sie auch das völlig ungestört genießen. Autos oder Wohnwägen gibt’s hier nämlich nicht genauso wenig wie Hektik oder Alltagstress. Was nicht bedeutet, dass Sie erst wie ein Schiffbrüchiger angeschwemmt werden müssen, die „Fischerin“ fährt während der Hauptsaison im 80 Minuten Takt von Seehausen aus zu uns. Aber auch für kleine Entdecker ist einiges geboten. Bei unserer Campinginsel handelt es sich nämlich um ein Naturschutz Gebiet, in dem man sicherlich das ein oder andere Lebewesen aufstöbern kann, dass man von zu Hause nicht kennt. Das Ganze auch noch völlig Gefahren frei. Insgesamt bietet unser überschaubares Fleckchen Erde Platz für 130 Dauercamper und 150 zusätzliche Plätze für spontan entschlossene Kurzzeit Camper
