"Noise until the police had to come - Actually an unspectacular campsite, nothing special but it would be ok for one night if there wasn't a large meadow right next to it that is freely accessible for groups. Problem: There are several 1000-watt music systems making unbearable noise all night long. Speech at 1:20 a.m. was useless. Everyone was drunk. I had to call the police. At 1:45 a.m. it was quiet. In the early morning the music started up again. A neighboring tent family with friends talked so loudly until 2:30 a.m. as if they were completely alone there. Only when the police arrived did they shut up for a short time. Conclusion: A horror night, if you are looking for peace and quiet, you have to go somewhere else. If this happens to me again, I won't wait that long. I'll call the police immediately at 10 pm.

"Pure camping at the Kastlhof - Situated between the main road and the Altmühl, the site has spacious meadow pitches on several levels. Very quiet despite being close to the road. Ideal starting point for cycling tours, as the Altmühl cycle path runs right past the site. Restaurant on site also offers very good bread service. Nearest shopping facilities approx. 2 km away. Sanitary facilities very clean, but in need of renovation and rather undersized with high occupancy. Instead of WLAN, there is a telephone box where you can be called. Pure camping without all the frills but with lots of charm and friendly operators. Definitely recommended for a weekend stay with a bike tour.

"Rustic charm - We have been coming here for years to fish with the club. One part is for permanent campers, one part for tents and campers, the rear part for groups. Campfires and barbecues allowed, as are dogs. Wonderful excursion destinations in the surrounding area. If you are looking for an uncomplicated, simple site without strict rules, this is the place for you. At weekends you have to expect youth groups to party, but they are gone again at the beginning of the week and it is quieter.

"Rustic campsite in a top location - Rustic campsite with no frills incl. inn and bread service in the morning. Friendly operators. Suitable for anyone who doesn't care about frills and doesn't give an ADAC 5-star rating. Swimming in the canal, fishing, boat landing area or simply relaxing. Camping under apple trees, pitches directly on the Danube-Main Canal or for groups on a large secluded camping meadow. The area offers numerous excursion destinations such as Weltenburg Abbey, which can be reached by bike directly or in combination with a river trip through the fantastic Danube gorge. Sanitary facilities always clean but a little tight. You should be prepared for a bit of a wait in the restaurant.

"Friendly staff - We camped here for 1 night with our family (children aged 13, 11 and 8) during our cycling vacation. We slept in tents. Tent field with too long grass, may be mowed more often, nice fire places, nice staff, sanitary facilities outdated (still with shower curtains), but clean.

Profile

Der Campingplatz Kastlhof liegt in Riedenburg im Altmühltal, direkt am Ufer des Rhein-Main-Donau-Kanals. Neben über 60 Stellplätzen für Wohnwagen und Wohnmobile ist im Obstgarten auch eine Zeltwiese vorhanden. Die sanitären Anlagen bestehen unter anderem aus vier Duschkabinen, acht Waschplätzen sowie …fünf Toiletten. Des Weiteren stehen den Campinggästen drei Geschirrspülbecken und ein Wickeltisch zur Verfügung. Darüber hinaus besteht die Möglichkeit, in der benachbarten Pension gegen Gebühr eine Waschmaschine beziehungsweise einen Wäschetrockner zu nutzen. Morgens wird dort zudem Frühstück angeboten; es existiert aber auch ein Brötchenservice. Außerdem lädt ein Gasthaus mit Biergarten zur Einkehr ein. Da sich in direkter Nähe zum Campingplatz eine öffentliche Slipanlage befindet, eignet sich der Kastlhof gut als Ausgangspunkt für Bootstouren auf dem Rhein-Main-Donau-Kanal. Ebenso kommen Angler hier auf ihre Kosten. Nicht zuletzt verspricht die Liegewiese mit Beachvolleyballplatz und Kinderspielplatz erholsame Urlaubstage.
