"two nights at the campsite and complete satisfaction - we arrived in July, on the blind. It was free and only the premium seats were taken. The bathrooms were clean. We found a spot under the trees. The campground was pretty quiet. We were disappointed that there was no water in the river at all, although there was water a few miles away at the bridge.

"Large transit area - We visited this campsite on our way to Plitvice Lakes. It's huge and has great park-like grounds. I thought the price was a bit high. The toilets and showers were clean and adequate.

"Campsite very close to the entrances to the Plitvice Lakes - Very close to the park entrances, perfect for an overnight stay. We found the campsite rather impersonal, you choose your pitch but we had trouble finding it and when we did the electricity was too far away. Check-out staff not very friendly, we're a no, at the restaurant not very friendly either, Korana river not far, but it's not necessarily great for swimming. We really liked the campsites in Croatia, but found this one too impersonal and chain-like. For a night's stop before going to the park, it's fine, with clean sanitary facilities. The guards at the gate are very friendly and happy to provide information (unlike the reception in the center of the park).

"beautiful grounds where you can choose your own pitch - We were passing through to see the Plitvice Lakes. So we only spent two nights here. A beautiful, natural campsite, quite hilly and sloping in places. But everyone will find a spot here. Suitable for campers of all kinds, tents, large mobile homes, self-sufficient campers etc. Some seating areas were set up. Restaurant on site, food very good, but service a bit slow and forgetful..... a pity. It took ages to ask for ketchup, the chips were almost gone and cold..... Unfortunately it also took a long time for drinks, not really attentive as to whether you still had a wish. Shuttle bus goes to the Plitvice Lakes, dogs are NOT allowed on it! So we had to unplug our motorhome again and drive there. You have to leave early enough, otherwise it gets crowded there. Suitable campsite for transit.

"Designed for mass - The course certainly stands out due to its special terrain. Here you can find your own spot under trees on hills or in hollows. With a camper van, many pitches are out of the question due to lack of space. With a motorhome that is not too big, you have an advantage here. However, these also like to use the path that actually leads to the pitches as a parking space. Overall, it all looks like mass tourism: The whole world arrives, wanders around the lakes and is gone again after one or two nights at the latest. No atmosphere, nothing personal. I also found it strange that the ID cards were retained for the duration of the stay and were only handed back on payment. Certainly OK for an overnight stay near the lakes (late arrivals are apparently also possible), but it's not really nice.

"Beautiful natural facility - We chose this place because it belongs to the Plitvice National Park and there is a free shuttle bus to the park every day at 09:00. This also runs back at 17:00. The site offers different pitches, some on the meadow and some in the forest. Due to the size of the site, the paths are sometimes longer, but everything is within easy walking distance. The sanitary buildings are clean and spotless. There are simple chrome steel basins for washing up without a shelf. This quickly becomes complicated when the campsite is very busy and is not well thought out. The small market on the site offers everything you need for a few nights. If you want more, there is a Tommy market a few hundred meters outside the campsite with a wide range of products. What really worried us were the electrical distribution boards, some of which were outdated and falling apart. Action is needed here! We actually wanted to stay three nights. However, the weather changed dramatically and we had to leave at short notice. This was accepted by the campsite at no extra cost and in a very accommodating manner. We are happy to recommend this campsite as a base for visiting the national park.

Profile

Korana camping ground is one of the most beautiful camping sites in continental Croatia. Located 8 km from the Park entrance, it occupies an area of 35 ha and has a capacity for 2500 guests, who may choose their own …camping spot for their tent, camper or trailer. Korana Camping Ground also offers accommodation in 47 comfortable bungalows equipped with single beds with linen, tables and chairs. All campers use common sanitary facilities. The camping ground includes a restaurant (à-la-carte and self-service) with a total capacity of 250 seats, a café-bar with an outdoor patio, a grill and a store. The whole area is planted with woods and shrubs and the marvellous Korana River is very close by. Trekking, jogging, cycling, swimming – you can enjoy all this here!
