Description

Profile

On the banks of the Dordogne, near the village of Meyronne, lies campsite La Plage. You'll be camping on a large grassy pitch under walnut trees. The best pitches are right on the water's edge. The campsite has its own …pebble beach on the river, where you can take a lovely canoe or kayak trip. The campsite is well laid out and well maintained. The many walnut trees provide plenty of shade on the campsite. The pitches are located on the grass under the trees. They are marked out, but not separated from each other by hedges. La Plage is a relatively small campsite with 60 pitches for campers, 12 bungalow tents and lodge tents, and four caravans. The campsite has a simple heated outdoor pool. It is situated in full sun and has a lovely sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols all around. The pool has a separate area for small children. The small pebble beach, with its fast-flowing water and incoming and outgoing canoes and kayaks, is perhaps a little too exciting for small children. You can rent canoes and kayaks at La Plage campsite. These are ready and waiting for you on the pebble beach, and you can take them straight to the river. From the campsite, you can take beautiful trips and explore the Dordogne River. There are beautiful castles along the banks. Because the river has different currents, you can choose a quieter or a slightly wilder trip. Besides canoeing and kayaking, you can also go rafting or stand-up paddling here.
