"Very nice place - Great location, very well maintained, super nice staff, beautiful view of Volterra, a piece of Etruscan wall next to the site with a wonderful view of the countryside, table football and table tennis table. You can walk into town.

"Friendly campsite - We traveled from Pisa it was spectacular to drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside in the fall. the road was not easy with a big camper but it works. We received a warm welcome like nowhere else on our trip... Friendly set up. We were allowed to order bread rolls right away and the nice lady then briefly explained the way to Volterra on foot. We were allowed to choose our pitch and stand on it. The pitches are a bit uneven but no problem for us. In the evening we went for a walk to the beautiful church which was so beautifully illuminated with the mystical fog it was really great. We then found a small bar. The sanitary facilities are really a bit outdated (no toilet paper) no problem for us. Showers and washing up were functional. Pool would have been open but we didn't use it. We slept peacefully. The next morning we explored Volterra which is a bit touristy but beautiful. Conclusion Great campsite without a lot of frills

"A beautiful place to explore Volterra and San Gimignano. - I stayed here for 4 nights in the high season and was satisfied. Beautiful e-bike tours to San Gimignano or Castello Querceto are possible. Volterra is right nearby anyway.

"beautiful, super located place with cleanliness problems - A campsite couldn't be better located next to a town - the grounds are landscaped with trees and there is shade when you need it. The pool was unfortunately just tipped over. Sanitary facilities very old, dirty, not cleaned, didn't like using the toilet or shower. It was also brittle, tiles were missing and cobwebs were everywhere.

"Real camping without the glamping nonsense - We received a very friendly welcome on the site and were able to choose a free pitch easily. The site is quite natural, so some of the pitches are quite uneven. If you want to stand upright with a camper van, you can use a gravel plateau. The pitches vary greatly in size and are divided up using ropes. The small swimming pool is well maintained. Bread rolls can be ordered at the reception. The sanitary facilities are simple and dated. Volterra is easy to reach on foot.

"Perfect starting point for exploring Volterra - The campsite is in a great location and we could reach Volterra on foot. It was also nice that there were plenty of shady pitches. The Wi-Fi is included and also had sufficient range. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are a bit outdated and could do with an upgrade. You have to bring your own toilet paper and soap for washing your hands. For us, a good place for a stopover.

The camp-site is only one km far from the beautiful historical centre …and it is really close to one of the most exiciting of Volterra territory. The camp-site "Le Balze", in fact, takes its name from the place itself, immense and evocative cliffs that reveal the history of Volterra's land. It is at the feet of a powerful walls that nowadays seem to defent it from a fascinating precipice.
