"The place lives up to the expectations of the other reviews! - We stayed for a few days at the beginning of April at this beautifully situated and small, family-run campsite on the Ardèche. Please note: According to the campsite's website, it has been open since April 1st and we can confirm this, the information here at Camping.info (April 17th) is unfortunately incorrect. So it's always better to check the operator's website... The pitches, some of which are bordered by small hedges, are slightly sloping, so putting up tent pegs was no problem. The first row towards the Ardèche is a little lower and is reserved for campers, but was still cordoned off in April. The sanitary building, which is separate from the reception, was still closed due to construction work, but the final installation work was already coming to an end so that everything would be ready for Easter. As far as can be seen, it will have very good facilities. The small sanitary annex at the reception remained for what felt like 10 guests, everything was also clean and fully equipped, including toilet paper. There is also a baguette service with fantastically good croissants (don't forget to order in advance in the evening) and the small coffee and drinks bar with terrace was open, but the small restaurant was unfortunately still closed. Some groceries and daily necessities are available from the bar as emergency supplies. The very friendly operator is passionate about his work and was also on hand with help and advice when we asked him for a store with camper accessories because we had damaged the front wheel of the camper van during one of the countless "ralentisseurs" and needed a replacement. We found what we were looking for in Vallon and Grospierres on his advice. The well-signposted site is indeed somewhat remote compared to the large sites in Vallon opposite, but that's exactly what we were looking for. It's a lovely place to relax. We left 100% satisfied and would love to come back. p.s. A walk through the village of Salavas is also worthwhile.

"Active week directly on the Ardèche - We chose the campsite because of its direct location on the Ardèche and its proximity to Vallon Pont d'Arc and were not disappointed. The campsite was completely full, as it was high season, but it never felt overcrowded. The site is rather small, family-run and English is also spoken. The manager is always present, gives tips and takes guests' concerns seriously. The campsite itself is very quiet (except on the evening mentioned later). You can only hear music from the campsite opposite. We had a pitch in the front row (for caravans/motorhomes). Below a small wall there is another row for tents. Due to the bushes on the Ardèche embankment, you don't have a direct view of the river, but that didn't bother us. The pitch was large, but the only drawback was that it sloped a little towards the front, so we had to pitch a good 15 cm underneath. Thanks to our helpful neighbors, this also went very quickly. The sandy beach belonging to the campsite is very nice and, unlike many other campsites we have seen along the Ardèche, you can also get into the water here with small children. However, bathing shoes are recommended due to the stones. There is a small playground for younger children and a large meadow with football goals and baseball baskets. There is also a table tennis table. Petanque is also played every evening. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but were always clean (they were cleaned twice a day). We can't say too much about the catering. Bread can be pre-ordered the evening before. There is a bar where you can order snacks. Once a week (at least in high season) there was a communal evening where paella was cooked. In addition, the chicken griller came to the campsite one evening with his trolley. The campsite has a partnership with a local canoe company. You are picked up from the campsite and brought back again. The 8 km mini trip on the Ardèche was great and a huge experience for our two children. The region is also great for hiking. However, you need to be mobile as there is no bus from the campsite. You also need a car to go shopping. In addition to the French chain Carrefour, there is also a Lidl in Vallon. All in all, we can recommend the campsite without reservation and would choose it again at any time.
