Stay: Jul 2015
"Very nice place - We (camper van with extra tent, 2 adults, 1 x 4 yrs, 2 x 15 yrs) stayed at Camping Les Plage de Beg Leguer in July. The planned length of stay was three weeks. We received a very quick and friendly response to our first e-mail inquiry (in the local language). The online reservation is not made via the contact link, but must be made via the corresponding "reservation link". The reservation confirmation was sent very quickly by email and in German. In our experience, this is a very rare exception, especially in France. A short time later, the confirmation arrived again by post, including a glossy brochure in German. So, up to this point, the first impression could not have been better. After a deposit of 10%, the reservation was binding. The directions on the website are very good and the site is already signposted in Lannion. From this point on, however, the road becomes quite narrow for caravans, but can be driven at any time. We received a very friendly welcome at reception on arrival. A fixed pitch was reserved for us. When we first inspected the pitch, we realized that it was too small for the camper van, awning and extra tent. So we went back to reception and the lady immediately and unbureaucratically found us all the large pitches that were still available. We were then able to quickly find one that met our requirements. The campsite is very clearly laid out in terms of size, which we really liked. The site is fenced on three sides. Towards the sea, however, there is only a small stone wall as an enclosure. The site is very clean and well-kept and lovingly laid out in detail. Wearing a rubber wristband is obligatory. You receive a magnetic card for the barrier. There are two unisex wash houses, one very old and rather unsightly and one modern. Even if you couldn't tell by looking at the old building, the sanitary facilities were always clean. The toilet and shower cubicles are quite small, which caused some problems, especially when showering with my youngest. There was always warm to hot water. The showers are only equipped with a push button, without the possibility of regulating the temperature. Dishwashing sinks are only outside, but covered. Hot water is always available here too. The site itself is very quiet. However, there are occasional events in the restaurant, which cannot be ignored. The highlight of the campsite is the covered and heated swimming pool. It has two large indoor pools and a children's pool as well as an outdoor area with slides. Everything made a clean and well-kept impression. There is also a restaurant, a small bar and a store (or if you like, all in one). However, I can't say anything about this because we didn't use the facilities. Baguettes of various kinds can be ordered in advance for the following day. The site is very child and family friendly, with a relatively large play and sports area. The site has free W-LAN. However, this is hardly or not at all usable in large parts of the campsite, as it is overloaded or simply too weak. The only halfway decent reception was in front of the reception in the immediate vicinity of the antenna. There are two beaches nearby. A large one with a guarded bathing area and parking lot. The beach can also be easily reached on foot from the campsite in 10-15 minutes. And a small unguarded beach. This is more difficult to reach but more attractive from our point of view. We wanted to stay at this campsite for three weeks but left after 10 days and moved further south. The only reason for this was the weather. We only had two beautiful days. And even the spectacular landscape of the Cote de Granit Rose is no fun in constant rain and 12 degrees. Despite having reserved a pitch for three weeks in advance, it was possible to leave early at any time without paying any compensation. Conclusion: Les Beg Leger campsite is a very nice, well-kept and quiet site with friendly and really hard-working staff at all times. Not for party people. Very good for couples, families and nature lovers.
