Stay: Aug 2017
"Great resort for families who want to go on a beach vacation - We (2 adults, three children 4, 6 and 15) spent two vacations on the pitch in August 2016 and 2017. ----------------- ANLAGE: Great site, beautifully planted with palm trees, orleanders and many other plants. Clean and tidy. The groundsman constantly drives around the site, even at night (which can be annoying depending on the pitch). There is mini golf, a playground, wellness area, tennis court, pool and much more. ----------------- PITCHES: We had good pitches both times. There are very different pitches in terms of location and size. Ours were big enough, central, but still relatively quiet. In the second year, however, it was a bit noisy at times, as the garbage containers and the cleaning crew's recreation room were nearby. The containers were emptied early in the morning, which of course caused some noise, and the cleaning ladies were standing in front of our caravan at 6.30 a.m. and talking loudly... The pitches on the "main road" are not necessarily recommended if you like it a bit quieter. There's always a lot going on here, cars coming to or leaving the site and in the evening everyone goes this way to the evening entertainment and of course back. This can be noisy. Above all, you can sometimes hear the animation on the neighboring pitch until 1 am. There are also pitches on a hill, which are certainly quieter, but then the walking distances are also longer (to the supermarket, pool, entertainment and sea). Every pitch has an electricity connection and a washbasin (but without a plug, like almost everywhere else) ;) The quality of the vacation here definitely depends on the location of the pitch. We were lucky, but there wasn't much choice either, as you (supposedly) can't make a reservation on the pitch. But that's not normally a problem. You may just have to wait one night on a meadow. But that didn't happen with us. ----------------- SANITARY FACILITIES: The somewhat outdated sanitary facilities are nicely laid out and are cleaned regularly. In the high season it is of course difficult to keep everything clean. And the operators can't be held responsible for some of the campers' "p...". The showers are quite sandy in the afternoon, which is understandable. Wipers would be useful here. There can also be waiting times in the afternoon when everyone comes in from the beach... ----------------- POOL: Beautifully designed pool area on two levels with pool bar. Children's paddling pool and pool with four water slides. Few sun loungers and sunbathing area. In the afternoon, the water quality is no longer good (slightly murky, sandy and sometimes grassy). It was very crowded in August. ----------------- BEACH: The beach is just a few minutes' walk away. You walk under a small underpass (railroad) on a path to the beach, which is very nice. However, the width has changed a lot in the last two years. In 2017 the beach was much narrower than the previous year and therefore there was much less space. However, we always found a spot, usually even in the front row. The beach is suitable for children because the water is shallow. However, there can also be strong waves. The beach is supervised and there are lifeguards. There are restaurants and a surf bar in the immediate vicinity. ----------------- FOOD: There is a small supermarket on the campsite, which has a good selection and has also greatly expanded its meat counter. In the morning you can get various bread rolls and baguettes (2 for €1). There is a Lidl supermarket nearby and a supermarket with a great fish counter. Next to the supermarket is a small store with beach accessories, souvenirs and so on. You can also visit the restaurant. It's a nice place to sit and it tastes good. We found the value for money to be okay. There are also two snack bars that offer take-away food. ----------------- ANIMATION: Daily animation at the pool, in the morning (water gymnastics at 11 a.m.) and in the afternoon, which we could hear well from our pitch. But it didn't bother us. In the evenings there is always a children's disco and show program, which is also worth seeing. But of course in Spanish, sometimes also in English. Depending on the show, it can get very crowded, but you can always find a seat somewhere. We did not use the children's entertainment. ----------------- SURROUNDINGS: There are lots of things to do, e.g. drive to Barcelona (1 hour) or to the mountains. There is a reservoir and a great mountain village. Tarragona is also not that far away and is also worth a trip. Otherwise, everything around it is very touristy: lots of campsites, restaurants and so on. ----------------- CONCLUSION: We had two great vacations at the campsite and can recommend it, especially for people with children. However, you shouldn't be too sensitive when it comes to the noise level, depending on which pitch you get. Otherwise, it has to be said that the sanitary facilities and pool are a bit outdated and could do with a "freshening up" soon.
