"Nice stay - Nice campsite. Nothing for luxury campers, but wonderfully idyllic location and equipped with everything you need. Shopping (small store on the site) possible in Nideggen or Heimbach. Friendly and helpful operators. Access currently a bit "risky" due to new bridge construction but also drivable with longer trailers. Huge meadow directly on the Rur with a view of fields and rocks. There is also a single trailer converted into a toilet. Free choice of pitch. You can either look for a pitch on the meadow or you can park on a free permanent camper pitch. The owner takes great care to ensure that you don't get in each other's way and always leaves plenty of space between the caravans. Electricity boxes perhaps a little far apart, but didn't bother us as we have a 50m cable drum. Sanitary facilities a little dated but always clean. Toilet paper was laid out but often not enough. Always take your own roll to be on the safe side. There were enough toilets and showers (with key and shower coins) so that there were no long waiting times even at peak times. Electricity is charged fairly according to KW used. Nice for dog owners....... Just behind the barrier, opposite, is a country lane where you can go for a wonderful walk with your dog. "Dog walking bags" are available directly at the campsite exit We also liked the fact that you can leave stress-free. Payment is made on the day of departure between 9.00 and 11.00 am. After that you can dismantle in peace. It doesn't matter whether you leave at 12.00 noon or 5.00 pm. "If I'm not at reception then put the key and barrier card in the letterbox". This was not the last time we were here.

"Peace and space without end - Short stopover on the way back from Belgium. Very friendly but talkative reception from the boss himself. Space without end. We were allowed to choose a pitch and opted for the large meadow as it was virtually unoccupied (see pictures). Great view of the forest and rocks, the Rur flows directly behind the meadow. Electricity is not charged at a flat rate but according to units used. You get a key for the showers, washrooms and dishwashing rooms on arrival. The toilets are freely accessible. The sanitary facilities were clean throughout, but smelled a little due to the waterless urinals. There is only one toilet block at the entrance to the site. At the end of the meadow is a converted construction trailer with a ladies' and men's toilet (see picture) which was as good as new. The sanitary facilities in the main building were a little older and looked like a mixture of western and eastern installations with the green washbasins and exposed pipes. Showers cost one euro and are coin-operated. Unfortunately, the water temperature cannot be regulated, so it was always too hot for me. There is a large recreation room with two table football tables, billiards, Taifun and TV. There is also a fairly large swimming pool, a smaller pool for the little ones and a playground. We paid €20.70/night for four people including electricity and tourist tax. By the way, it's great that you can leave whenever you want on the day of departure and the electricity is not disconnected until then.
