"Beautiful campsite located directly behind the dunes - We have already been to Sandaya campsites several times and we also liked this one very much. We got the pitch we had booked for our caravan directly behind the dunes. At the beginning of September, the pitches were 50 percent full, mainly with motorhomes. There was hardly any entertainment. The pool was 30 degrees and was only used sparingly by the guests. Bread and things for daily use can be bought at the small supermarket outside the campsite. All in all, a lovely place and we will be back.....

"Dirty sanitary facilities - The sea and beach are beautiful. The sanitary facilities were renovated some time ago, but there are far too few toilets and showers for the number of guests and the sanitary facilities are cleaned too rarely and not thoroughly enough. There were constantly dirty toilets and overflowing buckets of toiletries. There was always enough staff on site, except that there were five of them standing by the pool as entertainers rather than ensuring the toilets were clean. The pitches in the dune for caravans and tents are unkempt and without a view.

"Great camping right by the sea - We came across this campsite by chance. Accepts the ACSI Card in the low season with two different discounts (forest or sunny pitch). Very nice reception. You can order bread for the next morning in the small supermarket at the campsite. The island is very easy to explore by bike.

"Well - Will certainly not come back if we do, then only in the low season. Otherwise the animation made it too loud for far too long! So it was ok. Sanitary: Oh dear. Showers little water and constantly pressing the button because it stopped immediately. Cleanliness was also poor. Information at reception poor and only more on request.

"Campsite near the beach - The campsite is located in the Barbâtre district and is easy to reach. Due to the very large pitches, the lack of boundaries and the low tree cover in the area close to the beach, the site feels very open and spacious. As many of the pitches are in the sand, it is explicitly pointed out (in a friendly manner) at reception that no towing assistance is offered and that this must be arranged by a local towing company. The fact that the wind is always blowing on Noirmoutier naturally has an effect on the pitch itself, on cycling, but also on sunbathing on the beautiful beach (sand blasting!). The sanitary facilities were clean but not enough, but not a big problem in the low season. The rental tents/tepees and tents on offer there fit in nicely with the open overall picture. There is a small supermarket right next to the site for daily shopping. As on the Ille de Re, Noirmoutier is also a great place for cycling excursions, e.g. Noirmoutier town. However, the "Plage des Dames" beach advertised in the travel guides is more of a joke. I personally liked the place.
