"Almost not suitable for caravans - Located on a slope with small pitches, almost unsuitable for caravans. We had rain and all areas were muddy, the caravans had to stay on the side roads. Water is only available at the wash house, so sometimes longer distances. The sanitary building was newer, but with 5, or if the second part was open, with 10 women's toilets simply too few for the number of visitors and reasonably clean. Incidentally, the store sells Lidl products for a lot of money! We paid €42.75 per day for 2 people with our caravan, which is totally overpriced. Not mentioned on the Internet is the lunch time from 14.00 to 16.00, the reception is then closed, please note on arrival. Obviously the radio signal was disturbed because our mover (Truma xt) did not work there. However, it is very easy to get to Bilbao from the town by public transport, the train station is a 15-20 minute walk away.

"It is worth it - Sopleana is not located in Andalusia, but is a municipality in the province of Bizkaia (Basque Country) near Bilbao. The site has a somewhat peculiar charm, just like the owner. Many pitches are difficult to access, everything is very narrow. The sanitary complex is new, really great and very clean. The site is an excellent base for Bilbao. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the metro, then you can go straight into the center. The subway station is about 5 to 10 minutes away from the Guggenheim Museum. We also recommend the sandy beach or a visit to the suspension bridge at Areeta.

"With your own motorhome ok, otherwise not recommended - On the positive side, the toilet facilities are new and still well maintained. Unfortunately, this is the only positive thing we took away from our visit. The groundsman is extremely unfriendly (sent an elderly British couple away because they had parked "incorrectly" in front of the entrance) and was aggressive when we pointed out the shortcomings of the lowest category bungalow, which nevertheless cost 70 euros. He quickly became insulting and didn't listen. Therefore a big minus point for friendliness. Disrespectful towards customers and negative comments towards Europeans in general. Bungalow was dirty, hair, sand and dust on the floor, musty smell, spiders and their webs everywhere.

"Good price/performance ratio - We were here at the beginning of October 2018 with 3 children (9, 11 and 13) and 2 dogs with an almost 7m long caravan. Yes, we had to stand at an angle, but we had a pitch with a sea view in the bottom row. The hedges around each pitch are trimmed and ensure peace and quiet. The pitch was about a third full and we didn't have any noise around us. We paid just under 70 Eur for 2 nights and thought it was good value. Sea within walking distance, town very close by car. The only downside is the failing hot water, but this will be renovated next month and will be better on our next visit. Staff friendly and helpful. We would love to come back

"Desolate condition - Sanitary facilities very dirty and in desolate condition. Entire campsite unkempt and carelessly kept. Very expensive (34 euros in low season!!). Not recommended!

"Miserable! - Completely overpriced, pitches tiny, sanitary facilities completely outdated, the so-called supermarket has virtually nothing on offer, but what little there is is overpriced and old. Absolutely not recommended! Never again!
