"Unfortunately disappointing - The welcome and treatment was anything but friendly. As we couldn't reach anyone by phone and there was no information on the homepage about what to do if reception wasn't manned, we had already parked the caravan once, but misinterpreted the map (clearly our mistake) and mistakenly parked the caravan in the tent zone (the campsite was practically empty, no tents available). We had already expected that we might have to move. However, the way we were told this was so rude that we spontaneously decided to drive on and will certainly not be coming back. Too bad about the beautiful place, but friendliness comes first....

"A cozy place with unique charm - The site along the Thur offers plenty of peace and space to unwind, perfect for flatland hikes and cycling excursions in the surrounding area. Barbecue areas and beautiful trees. The site has simple but functional sanitary facilities and is professionally run by the Winterthur Tent Club. There is only a small selection of catering options, including coffee and ice cream, and you can stock up on food in the small store in the nearby village. It is best to bring your own electricity in the form of solar power and unfortunately there is no gray water disposal for motorhomes (the site is sporadically flooded by the Thur). Chemical toilets can be emptied. At weekends and even more so on public holidays, it can be tight - first come, first serve.

"Camping like as a child - Our favorite, no animation, no expensive extras. You arrive here and feel at home. For all those who simply want to camp without "SchniggSchnagg" An oasis for the whole family. Swimming and floating in the Thur, fire pit on the pitch where you can meet up or simply make a fire yourself in the gravel bed. Playground with ''covered'' sandpit. A small kiosk. Sanitary facilities TipTop small but nice. Camping like when I was a child.

"green, shady spot directly on the banks of the Thur - Some say this is the most beautiful campsite in Switzerland. It's definitely a great place, and not just because of the very well-kept lawn and the tall, shady trees. The site warden is the good soul and looks after things unobtrusively. There are motorhome pitches and tent pitches that are not marked out so that everyone can choose their own pitch. A meadow is reserved for groups, so they can have a louder discussion in the evening. There are three fireplaces on the site, but you can also make a fire on the gravel bank, which is also done diligently. You can also swim in the Thur, and you can float from the beginning of the site to the end, which is also about 300 meters. There is a kiosk with the essentials and fresh bread is available daily by prior arrangement. There is also a lounge and a fridge for shared use. The sanitary facilities are clean but rather small and cramped. Electricity is not available and a generator is not desired.

"Super schön gelegener Camping - Wir haben den Camping als Etappenort auf der Ostschweizer Weinroute (nr. 26) benutzt. Ist einer der schönsten Camping, den wir auf unseren zahlreichen Touren angetroffen haben.

Im wunderschönen Thurtal, direkt am rechten Flussufer, liegt der naturnahe, idyllische Campingplatz Gütighausen. Im Fluss baden, in der Sonne liegen oder auf der Kiesbank ein Lagerfeuer entfachen, ist hier ohne weiteres möglich. Als Einstiegsort für Kanufahrten auf der Thur ist …der Zeltplatz bei Gütighausen europaweit bekannt. Ausflüge zu Fuss oder mit dem Fahrrad in die nähere Umgebung bieten Gelegenheit die Natur zu erkunden. Ganz bewusst wird auf eine Elektrifizierung der Stellplätze verzichtet. Ebenso gibt es auf dem Zeltplatz kein warmes Abwaschwasser. Warmduschen sind vorhanden. Der Platz ist nicht parzelliert und Reservationen können keine entgegen genommen werden.
