"For and against...... - How the place gets so many 5.0 ratings is not entirely clear to me. Overall, the buildings of the old mill appear unkempt and in need of renovation, the courtyards untidy and unattractive. The operator seems tense and irritable, there is no map of the site and you are disoriented at first because of the different access routes. The sanitary facilities are old, but mostly clean. Showers are extremely expensive at 1.50 euros and there is a time limit. There are lots of trees which make satellite reception impossible for TV fans. The street opposite is quite noisy. Gray water disposal not directly on site.

"For a party yes - for a nice weekend rather not - We were there for a long weekend with a total of 14 people. The place was ok for that, but the sanitary facilities are very outdated, the showers can only be used with tokens, the playground is old (and the neighbors don't like children playing). Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio was very good. You can easily explore the area from there (ostrich farm, primeval forest, bicycle tours). The site is surrounded by an arm of a river, which is quite interesting in itself, but you can hardly get into the water and children in particular have few opportunities to swim. We would not come back.

"Small and idyllic - Small site directly on the Diemel, very clean sanitary facilities and well-implemented corona protection, bread roll service. Somewhat loveless site design, many permanent campers who apparently do not maintain their caravans. Ok for a short stay. Very good price/performance ratio

"A place with room for improvement - We stayed at the campsite for a weekend in February. Apart from us, one pitch was still occupied. When we arrived on Friday, unfortunately only one of the 4 men's toilets was still usable, the rest were dirty. The rest of the sanitary facilities were not particularly clean either. The site itself makes a desolate impression with the caravans parked there. You can get everything you need in the beautiful, well-kept village and the Brandner restaurant is highly recommended. The site is a great starting point for hiking and cycling.
