"Rustic natural CP - Aged is a rather nice way of putting it. It feels like this place hasn't seen a workman for the last 10 years. Everything, but also everything, is getting on in years and has not been looked after or maintained.

"Small place with lots of nature - We were passing through the site at the beginning of March 2016. We received a friendly welcome and the operator (German) was able to give us good tips for our onward journey. We were also passing through here in February 2017 and were pleased to find the campsite open and the German operator. In the sanitary facilities, only the cabin for the disabled was open. On the one hand, this is practical because all the necessary facilities are available in one room (shower, hand basin, WC). If there is more than one camper, this can lead to waiting times. We weren't alone on the pitch - but we were the fastest in the morning. Perhaps a renovation should be tackled after all.

"Great starting point for a canoe tour - Beautiful natural campsite, for us the starting point of a 5-day canoe trip on the Allier. Norbert, the campsite manager, was very friendly and helpful and helped us organize the tour. Many thanks to him!

"Very natural campsite with historic grounds - The German-speaking operator is very friendly and helpful. The site is very shady and the sanitary facilities are clean, but getting on in years. There is a children's playground directly after the entrance, but it is closed and a sign indicates "renovation work". However, the earth in the wheelbarrow has grown grass in the meantime :-), and many corners of the site still look like this. Nevertheless, the site is ideal for canoeists, as the owner also offers reliable pick-up and drop-off services to the various entry and exit points and the car can be safely parked on the campsite in the meantime.

"Dreamlike at an NSG - Location: CP is beautifully situated outside Chatel de Neuvre on the river Allier. Reception/staff: The reception is manned depending on the time. The staff are friendly, helpful and uncomplicated, a little French would be an advantage (English is also possible). Sanitary: The facilities are a little dated but clean. Pitch: It is divided into differently sized parceled out areas with electricity connection, fresh water points are sufficiently distributed on the pitch. Due to old trees, satellite reception is not guaranteed on every pitch, so you should check this in advance. The roads on the site are not always wide enough and cannot be used by large vehicles. But once you have chosen a pitch, it is a dream, right next to a nature reserve with a view over the Allier into the nature reserve. There is also a bistro on site with a small menu. Dogs: Are allowed on the campsite. Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve, which is a real challenge for a Labrador not being allowed to go into the water. Unfortunately, there are not many other ways to let your dog run around. Leisure: Hiking, canoeing, cycling are possible here, shopping: Supermarkets are just a few kilometers away.

" - Very friendly and helpful campsite manager, quiet and beautiful location on the Allier. Shady and sunny pitches, just as you need them depending on the season. Simple and functional sanitary facilities. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, help with organizing canoe trips, even for several days.
