"Good starting point for Edinburgh - We stayed at the site for one night for a visit to Edinburgh. The lady at reception was not particularly friendly, we rather had the feeling that we were a nuisance (perhaps she was having a bad day). The formalities were dealt with in a taciturn manner and she drove ahead in a golf cart, showed us our pitch and then disappeared again. We then had to find out where we could get electricity ourselves, there was no indication that the sanitary building was already closed (it was low season in October). The pitches are gravelled and therefore demarcated, with grass in between. The site is clean and tidy. There are no large trees, but this has the advantage that the satellite reception is very good. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years and are of average British standard. Clean on the whole, yes, if you don't look at the details. O.K. for our stay. W-Lan was inclusiv, very positive is that there are probably several stations that cover the place. When searching on the laptop, six W-Lan accesses were displayed, you just take the one that is the strongest. It works very well. Dogs have also been thought of: there is a doggy walk that goes halfway around the site. It is clean and relatively long. Top! The location of the site is very good, you can get to Edinburgh by train or bus, or by car.

"Ideal as a starting point - Ideal as a starting point for visiting Edinburgh and the coast, clean sanitary facilities and a very nice groundsman who even allocated us a pitch even though it was lunchtime and the campsite was closed.

"Well-kept place - We received a friendly welcome and everything was explained to us. The complex makes a well-kept impression. Only the sanitary facilities are in need of renovation. Everything works and is relatively clean but no longer state of the art. The number of showers and toilets is a little small for the size of the site. The pitches are paved with gravel, the rest is a well-kept lawn. The small store at reception sells the essentials. The site is a very good starting point for visiting Edinburgh. You can be in the city center in an hour by bus. A one-way ticket costs GBP 1.60 (2016) Internet via cell phone works. The network is sufficiently strong

"Ideal starting point to visit Edinburgh - We stayed at this site in April 2016 and it is ideal for visiting Edinburgh. The bus stop is 200m away and you can get into the city center for little money. The pitch is reasonably priced, the sanitary facilities are old but always clean. There is a doggie walk that starts on the site. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. What is a pity there and actually on all the campsites we visited in Scotland (and also in England) is that there is no catering on the campsites.

"Great place near the sea and close to Edinburgh - Quietly located campsite within 3 minutes walking distance to the sea and a great bus connection to Edinburgh. Very friendly staff and good for dog owners.

Newly refurbished 5-star amenity blocks with underfloor heating, free hot water showers, family bathrooms with baths, laundry and indoor campers’ kitchen. Small, licensed shop selling local produce and children’s playground. Dog walk around the site as well as plenty of woods and coast paths nearby including the Levenhall Links Nature Reserve. Dog wash. Quiet site policy after 10.30pm. Free WiFi, bike storage racks and EV charging station. Glamping pods, family glamping bothies and a range of holiday lodges with hot tubs also available on this site. Easy access by bus (40 minutes; bus stop 5-minute walk) or train (10 minutes; train station 15-minute walk or park at the large car park for free) into Edinburgh. Open all year so perfect for visiting the Edinburgh Christmas markets or enjoying Edinburgh Hogmanay. Musselburgh 2 miles with wide range of amenities; Prestonpans 1 mile with pub, Co-Op and takeaways.
