"We will definitely be back!!! Thank you very much - A great place all round. I also thought it was great that emergency accommodation was provided for the people on the campsite in the event of a storm. The staff went from tent to tent at night and offered it to everyone.

"Very nice weekend - We received a friendly welcome at the registration desk. The groundsman took us to our pitch and explained and showed us everything important. Everything was very easy to reach from our pitch. There is a great playground for children with a watercourse. The beach and the lake also create a great vacation feeling in warm temperatures. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be back.

"Passing through - Lots of geese visit the campsite in the evening and eat the grass. But in the morning there are 2 people who meticulously clean the grass again.

"Rating - A very nice place with a great swimming lake and very reasonably priced. We paid €25 for 7 days in May including electricity (electricity consumption €0.5o per kWh). Pitches at ground level without trees. Unfortunately you have to accept some disadvantages: partly airplane noise, close to the highway, but both still bearable, no bread service, water point only at a distance, showers without separation for clothes etc (you have to undress before the shower otherwise everything gets soaking wet), kiosk open from about 12 o'clock and only conditionally recommended,

"Großwelzheim leisure area - The lake had to close early due to blue-green algae and, as I have been told, the operator, the municipality of Karlstein, did nothing to prevent the problem. This is a great pity and certainly not profit-oriented and especially damaging for the small local businesses. Apart from that, the square is in a very nice location, but it is getting on in years and much more could be made of it with an appropriate concept and interest.

Profile

Zur Gemeinde Karlstein am Main gehört das Freizeitgebiet Großwelzheim. Hier liegt ein großflächiger Campingplatz direkt an einem ehemaligen Kiesbaggersee. Der Badesee ist 16 Hektar groß und verfügt über einen Sandstrand. Schattenplätze finden Camper auf den Wiesen des angrenzenden Mischwaldes. Über …500 Stellplätze stehen hier ganzjährig zur Verfügung, davon drei Viertel für Dauercamper. Die Plätze sind tageweise, pro Saison oder für ein ganzes Jahr buchbar. Strom, Trink- und Abwasser sind ebenso vorhanden wie Anschlüsse für Kabelfernsehen. Die Duschen in den beheizten Sanitäranlagen sind im Preis inbegriffen. Es gibt eine Küche mit Kochmöglichkeiten und Spülbecken. Auch Waschmaschine, Wäschetrockner und Bügeleisen stehen zur Verfügung. Speisen und Getränke sind das ganze Jahr über im Kiosk mit zugehörigem Gästeraum erhältlich. Zur Freizeitgestaltung dienen ein großer Kinderspielplatz sowie ein Spielfeld mit Basketballkorb. Darüber hinaus gibt es Tischtennisplatten, ein Volleyball- sowie ein Beachvolleyballfeld. Gegenüber des Platzes befindet sich zudem eine Minigolfanlage und Boule Bahn. Im Sommer stellt ein Bachlauf eine zusätzliche Spielmöglichkeit dar.
