"Totally overpriced - for a camper and 2 pers. we paid 28,50 for one night. it is a mystery to me how this place gets 4 stars?

"Not to be believed - Registered for permanent camping, contract paid on 21. 03. 2023, total € 1,470.00. Terminated on 02. 05. 2023 During this period, there was no electricity on the campsite to occupy the caravan that had been placed in the meantime. Always new excuses from the operator. The electrician was to blame, the Rheinhessiche etc. Telephone calls and questions to the operator were finally stalled. Without electricity there is no light, no fridge, no radio or TV, the fan for the heating remains silent. Charging cell phones or operating medical devices not possible. On 03. 05. 2023 I removed my caravan. In the meantime I had taken a look at the premises. These are very much in need of getting used to. I would like to spare myself further statements. These have been described in detail by other campers on these pages. When it rained, the site could only be entered with rubber shoes. "Mud and deep water holes". Fortunately, with the help of a lawyer, I got my money back at the beginning of July. With a loss of approx. 1/3 of the amount paid. Even the most beautiful sunset in Heidenfahrt can't console me.

"Even the best location will not help if certain deficits are not remedied. - Dirty place for the summertime. Many permanent campers block the box pitches. The transit campers have to make do with the rear pitches and are not exactly spoiled in any other way. Sanitary facilities that don't deserve their name, site hygiene that leaves a lot to be desired, a groundsman who keeps you waiting, seasonal catering with temporary student staff who serve food and drinks with a regional focus rather clumsily. The best thing on the square is the Italian restaurant in the pizza van, which offers reasonably good quality food from the wood-fired oven. Unfortunately, it's not always open...

"Nice location and that's it. - Very dingy overpriced campsite where the price-performance ratio is not right at all. Sanitary facilities very inferior and outdated. No toilet paper in toilets. No disposal station for chemical toilet and gray water only a drain pipe in the ground. Children's playground? A filthy defective sandbox 1x1 meter with a mini plastic slide in it so really shabby. We left the food in the beer garden establishment as it didn't appeal to us at all when we saw the cleanliness in the front area and imagined the same in the kitchen. Once and never again.

"Unkempt Lack of hygiene - At the entrance, a collection of old, dirty caravans and cheap wooden fences around the kitchen containers. It looks like a garbage dump and the pitches are unkempt. There is not a single waste bin on the whole site and garbage should be deposited at the counter in the restaurant (hygiene?) Hygiene is an issue with which the temporary staff at the counter and kitchen have a problem anyway. The sanitary containers are old and rickety with soaked floors. The steps to the containers are wobbly metal grates laid on bricks. The outside sink for the camping toilets consists of an open pipe in the meadow. 28.50€ for 2 people for one night for this place, wedged in by permanent campers who don't know their pitch size, cyclists speeding past in front and behind, a bargain!!!

"It is a very special place ... - ... that people from Mainz in Chiemgau gave me as a tip. Exceptional due to its location - I liked it.

Im Rahmen eines Modellprojekts des Umweltministeriums Rheinland-Pfalz (Ecocamping) wurde 2004 der frühere Campingplatz in Heidenfahrt am Rhein (12 km von Mainz Rg. Ingelheim) mit komplett neuer Infrastruktur wieder aufgebaut. Er ist Teil der Rheinufergestaltung mit Rheinstrand, Uferpromenade, Erholungs- und Renaturierungsbereich …in der Rheinaue Mainz-Ingelheim, direkt und zentral am Hauptradweg am Rhein zwischen Mainz und Bingen vor dem Naturschutzgebiet "Mariannenaue" gelegen. Hier genießen Sie eine Auszeit vom Alltag! Direkt angeschlossen finden Sie einen tollen Wein -und Biergarten in lockerer Atmosphäre und leckeren Speisen.

Campingplatz, Wein- und Biergarten "Inselrhein Heidenfahrt“ Außerhalb / Unteraue 0 Direkt am Rheinufer 55262 Heidesheim-Heidenfahrt" Mit dem Auto: A 60/ Abfahrt Ingelheim-Ost / Heidesheim-West; an der Abfahrt rheinwärts (nach Nordosten) abbiegen nach ca. 900 m an Kreuzung links (Richtung -> …Heidenfahrt). Dieser Landstraße ca. 2,1 km (Richtung -> Rhein) folgen (nicht in Siedlung abbiegen). Gäste des Ufers nutzen den großen Parkplatz (neu) vor dem Rheindamm auf der rechten Seite. Dauerstellplatzinhaber (nur je 1 KfZ) und gehbehinderte Gäste fahren die Anliegerstraße direkt hinter dem Damm links am Dammfuß bis zur Schranke. Mit dem Fahrrad: Direkt am Rheinradweg von Mainz nach Bingen am Rheinufer Heidenfahrt (rheinseits des Dammradwegs) gelegen. Orientierung: Rhein-km 513,1. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel: Bhf. Heidesheim (mindestens stündlicher Halt Strecke Mainz-Bingen und umgekehrt) oder Bahnbuslinie von/nach Heidenfahrt (Abfahrt in Mainz, Ingelheim, Heidesheim)
