Discover the area of Rocca di …Sotto Rocca di Sotto is a small nature campsite with 10 hectares of land in the beautiful region of Abruzzo. The campsite is located in the hills near to the majestic mountains, but also just 45 kilometers from the Adriatic coast. For many travellers, Abruzzo is still an unknown area, recognized mainly for the authentic landscape, the natural parks with medieval villages and the many olive groves, almond orchards and vineyards. You can discover Rocca di Sotto on the bottum of the beautiful national park of the Gran Sasso. This rugged area is sparsely inhabited; its vast plateau, ‘Campo Imperatore’, is located 38 kilometers from Rocca di Sotto and is the perfect base for your exploration in Abruzzo. Magical view The terraces of the campsite are situated within the acient olive trees. You can select your favorite spot and create your `own’ special place for a wonderful stay. Perhaps you don’t travel with a camping equipment. Then we can offer you a fully equipped large rent-a-tent or one of the three nature cottages. What’s special? Every position at Rocca di Sotto offers privacy and magical views of the peaks of the soaring Gran Sasso mountains! Whilst there is a lot of land, in order to maintain a pleasant atmosphere, we receive a limited number of guests only. So you’ll find plenty of space: come and enjoy!

In de regio Abruzzo, omlijst door de azuurblauwe Adriatische zee en met een prachtig uitzicht op de magische toppen van de Apennijnen, ligt een nog ongerept stukje Italië. In een lieflijk landschap met groene heuvels vol oude olijfbomen, wijnranken, smalle …riviertjes en kleine kronkelweggetjes, die leiden naar oude dorpjes, leven de Italianen nog zoals ze dat 50 jaar geleden deden. Hier in de regio Abruzzen, de groenste regio van Italië in de provincie Pescara, lijkt het alsof de tijd heeft stilgestaan. Volgens oude tradities en in alle rust worden hier de lekkerste wijnen en bijv. Pecorino kaas gemaakt en de beste olijfolie geperst. Italië puur! In het voorjaar van 2005 zijn we uit Nederland vertrokken. In de gemeente Penne hebben we onze droom gevonden: Rocca di Sotto. In het dorpje Roccafinadamo, aan de voet van het Nationale Park Gran Sasso in de vallei, staat aan het einde van de weg ons historische rustieke boerderij. Het oude steile pad, dat van boven naar de bergbeek beneden loopt, heet van oudsher Rocca di Sotto, wat letterlijk ‘rots van beneden’ betekent. Op het 10 hectare grote terrein met o.a. een grote olijfgaard met eeuwenoude olijfbomen en biologische campingmoestuin hebben we ruim opgezette terrassencamping met 17 gras tentplaatsen gecreëerd, voor maximaal 40 personen. Dit om in alle rust midden in de natuur kleinschalig met veel privacy te kunnen kamperen! Daarnaast kunnen wij u onze ingerichte de Waard tenten of een blokhut aanbieden om u van deze mooie regio te laten genieten. Nieuw is dit seizoen onze ingerichte ´Ripari`vouwwagen aan de Adriatische zee! Bent u op zoek naar het pure Italië, naar een prachtige omgeving waar de mensen nog ´zelfvoorzienend` denken en het toerisme nog in zijn kinderschoenen staat, naar overweldigende natuur, rust, ruimte en charme? Dan bent u bij ons van harte welkom! Bij Ryanair boekt u al een retourticket vanaf € 50,00 p.p. incl. belastingen van bijv. Düsseldorf Weeze Airport naar Aeroporto Internazionale d'Abruzzo Pescara . Als u bij Ryanair boekt, dan biedt bijv. Herz u in Pescara (vliegveld) een auto aan vanaf ongeveer € 30,00 per dag.
