"It could easily be done better this way... - We stayed at this site for 19 nights with a 6 year old child and a tent. In itself a very nice place, but: as soon as there were more guests, the sanitary facilities were disgustingly dirty. This may have been due to the guests, but the park has to take care of that. There are only 2 wash houses on the whole site with a total of 8 showers for each gender. The toilets are covered, but outside. There are no washbasins in the immediate vicinity of the toilets - as usual. You have to walk around the whole building to wash your hands in the washroom. This certainly encourages "not washing hands" - at least for the children. Unfortunately, soap was not included. The showers cost €0.50 for 7 minutes - ok in itself. However, very little water comes out of the shower and you can't regulate the temperature. This means you shower at 15°C just as warm as at 32°C - not nice. Especially as there was no window to open in the wash house, only the door. Although it was cleaned 4 times a day, it was simply not enough for the number of people. We didn't use the pool - so many people with suntan lotion and sweat in one pool - I don't want to see the water sample. There is definitely a lack of a cold shower by the pool where you can cool off in hot weather. You can cycle there very well, the beach is less than a kilometer away and very beautiful. Our child was very well occupied, but for teenagers it is rather boring. Conclusion: The campsite is recommended, but I would advise having your own pool.

"Good place with many excursion possibilities in the immediate vicinity - Rotterdam harbor is easily accessible by bike, also a lot to see, beautiful villages in the area, delta barrages and so on. The beach is good for swimming, the campsite has a small pool, unfortunately without a cold water shower. It would be a great advantage to have clean pool water and fewer resources, the sanitary facilities are functional. All in all we had a great vacation.

Profile

Molecaten Park Waterbos is a cosy Family camping which is within a stone's throw from sea and beach. Large, wide and immaculate sandy beaches, a unique dune area with thousands of birds and beautiful plants, bustling towns like Rockanje, Hellevoetsluis …and Brielle and, of course a very attractieve and modern camping site…..ideal for playing children. Waterbos Recreation Park is situated in a unique dune area. You can join one of the very interesting field trips that are organized in the 850 hectares of beaches, woodlands and dunes without any difficulty. The 'Waterbos cycle trail' is also highly recommended. Waterbos has all the facilities that turn your stay into a very pleasant holiday indeed. The modern sanitary block is heated and has a baby bathing room, a launderette and provisions for the disabled. Private sanitary blocks for the 'comfort+ pitches'. There is a fine fish pond on the grounds, a bar, a snack bar and a camp shop. Children can really enjoy themselves in the large playground. Our activities Team and the organize all kinds of special activities during the holidays.
