"Ambivalent - I'm a bit ambivalent about this place. On the one hand, it suits my penchant for natural pitches very well. It is not parceled out and is very spacious, the camper can choose between (shadeless) pitches with a view of the Weser and almost enchanted corners under old, tall trees. During our visit, this huge tent meadow was immaculately maintained and offered plenty of space. We were able to live with the very modest sanitary facilities, especially as they were recognizably old but spotlessly clean. We didn't mind that the male and female toilets were in the same room. The intensity of the shower spray left a lot to be desired (hot water is included). Apart from the toilets and washroom, the only infrastructure is an open-air sink and a somewhat unappetizing-looking toilet sink. The groundsman present during our visit (who was not the owner) was extremely friendly. There was a bread roll service (baked goods) and you could also buy ice cream and drinks from him. But there are also a number of downsides... - the area around the reception looks repulsive and urgently needs to be cleared out and weeded. - The paddlers' exit advertised on the website is unsuitable, at least if you arrive with a full boat. There is a nice ramp next door, but it belongs to someone else who is fiercely defending his claim and forbids anyone to enter his terrain - the relationship seems to be very tense - it would be nice if there were tables and benches for tent campers, preferably covered - the access to the site is via a not really well-surfaced path with a gradient of SIGNIFICANTLY more than 10 percent - and you have to get back up there too. The steepest part of this really adventurous ramp is where this access road joins the country road - this country road is a playground for motorcyclists because of a few apparently interesting bends, which causes considerable noise pollution in good weather - there is a bridge limited to 3.5 tons between registration and the site area There is no staff on the site at all times - registration is then done by telephone (this is technically well solved by the operator), the money is thrown through some slot. Disadvantage: If staff are not present, there are logically neither bread rolls nor the towing assistance mentioned in other articles. In addition, one of the two washrooms is then locked so that the sexes have to share the showers as well as the toilet. We were there as canoeists for one night with a tent, which was fine. I also have a caravan - I probably wouldn't go there with my (very handy) caravan.
