"Very nice campsite not usable due to wasp infestation - Only an exterminator can help to make real use of this space. Unfortunately, the pest turns your stay into a spooky run.

"Unfriendly to children - Children are not welcome. No reservation was made for our son's school class. It could get too loud. Our almost 18-year-old son also wanted to spend a night at the campsite with his little brother during the vacations. This was also not welcome and taking photos of the stars. Not all teenagers are loud and drink alcohol! Moreover, teenagers grow up and are good customers for life. Once a camper, always a camper! But certainly not at this campsite!

"Short trip Friday to Sunday - We received a friendly welcome. Guided to the pitch by the groundsman and well briefed. The place is very idyllic and very quiet. We were able to hike nicely even with a dog. Since dogs are allowed, I missed dispensers with dog waste bags and corresponding disposal options. What I did not like at all was that the sanitary facilities were not even cleaned from Friday to Sunday.

"A great campsite - We were there in May 2024. The site is very idyllic. The lake is clear. There are great hiking opportunities. The operator is friendly and fair. Well organized place. Price-performance ratio is totally fine in my opinion. I would gladly come again!

"Wonderful in the Thuringian Forest - On the way back from the dry, brown Harz Mountains, we enjoyed the real green of the Thuringian Forest. Despite the lunch break, we were picked up immediately with a great choice of pitches. Evening meal in the restaurant, not necessarily cheap but the portion was right for the price and super tasty. Wonderful hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. We think we'll be back again sometime, but for longer.

"Quiet and clean - We were there with the camper van and bicycles. The welcome and the registration process were nice and uncomplicated. You sign up on a list for the bread rolls the next morning. You are directed to the pitch and asked if you like the place. During our stay, there were lots of campers with 1-2 dogs on the pitch. But that didn't bother us. We didn't use the WiFi as I always have the Gigacube with me and therefore had no restrictions on WiFi reception. The sanitary facilities were clean and tidy. The restaurant with outdoor terrace is open from 5 pm and offers a small selection of dishes that are somewhat reminiscent of GDR cuisine. The food and service were very good. There are plenty of excursion options for hiking or cycling. Oberhof is just under 6km through the forest. The hiking trails are very well signposted.
