"Not another chance... - As a family, you are often looking for a way to somehow find a nice comfort and compromise with known high prices! However, the second chance was also a failure! Dirty & old sanitary facilities. Permanent construction sites ... which still exist after two years (danger for children). The reception staff is clearly changeable friendly ... or not. The swimming pool has unrealistic opening hours. We were desperately looking for the 5 stars! NO RECOMMENDATION

"Large family campsite - It is possible to book a pitch online. There is a restaurant and a snack bar on the campsite (we didn't use it). The supermarket offers a good selection of baked goods and groceries. The nearest shop is approx. 2.5 km away. We did not use the swimming pool. We had a pitch with private sanitary facilities. This is very small and simple. The pitch is equipped with electricity, water and waste water. With 80 square meters it is quite narrow. The rule is that all vehicles must be parked crosswise. This meant that the neighbor's drawbar was so close that we could barely get the back doors of our van open. The direct lakeside location with sandy beach is very nice. However, the beach is extremely dirty with duck droppings. There is a surf SUP rental shop and school on the beach. The surrounding area is very beautiful and quiet. Numerous bike tours are possible. The site is large, so we found the paths to be very long.

"Bigger place, beautiful area - We had a great time at the campsite. The area is great for cycling. Shopping nearby. How the place is in the summer, I can not judge in the fall it was now very empty. The place is big, many vacation homes, and dogs are not allowed everywhere (unfortunately). Otherwise everything is ok there.

"Sanitary facilities spoil the overall impression - We had one of the pitches directly on the canal/slipway. The pitches are great for boating. The site is very spacious and generally quiet, despite the high number of visitors. The site is less suitable for dogs. Dog walking is limited to the grass verges along the paths and there is a general lack of garbage cans along the campsite. The sanitary facilities have clearly tarnished the actually solid image of the site. It is a large building without partitioned rooms. Various cabins/open corridors provide minimal privacy. Up to this point, everything has been okay, but this construction contributes to the fact that it smells extremely bad all day long. In addition, the brush holders are open at the bottom, so there is always a fragrant puddle of sometimes more, sometimes less recognizable faeces in every cubicle. This should be fixed urgently. Furthermore, it's a joke that you can't adjust the temperature of the showers or the pressure yourself on a 5* pitch. Otherwise, the campsite is probably more recommended for families with children. There really is a lot on offer here for them!

"Very spacious campsite, shower has to be paid extra - The showers are a cheek. You pay extra and get a water jet that is a joke and only lukewarm water. If I have to pay extra for the shower, I expect something accordingly. The place is very spacious and they are also very friendly.

"Great vacation spot on the Frisian Lakes - You can camp in Friesland! The site has everything you could wish for in a great location. Access to the lake district, swimming pool, marina, boat hire, good restaurant, beautiful pitches. We felt very comfortable.

Vanaf de A6: Bij Lemmer neemt u de afslag. U gaat door Lemmer op de N359 richting Balk. Bij Balk neemt u de rotonde 3/4 richting Koudum. Bij Hotel de Galamadammen gaat u onder het aquaduct door. Volg vanaf hier …de borden naar De Kuilart. Bij de rotonde gaat u 1/4 de Dammenseweg op. De Kuilart is aan uw rechterkant. Vanaf de A7: Bij Bolsward neemt u de afslag. U volgt de N359 richting Workum. Deze blijft u volgen helemaal tot aan Koudum. Volg vanaf hier de borden naar De Kuilart. Op de kruising bij Koudum slaat u linksaf. Om vervolgens meteen rechts te gaan, de Bûtenskar op. Volg deze weg tot het einde en ga hier links bij de t-splitsing de Dammenseweg op. De Kuilart is aan uw linkerkant.
