"Fantastic location in beautiful nature - This campsite really is an insider tip! We spent 10 days here over Easter with our two teenagers and caravan. We stayed on one of the viewing pitches, which are nice and large (ideal for our 7.5m caravan) and offer a wonderful view of the lake. The campsite is in a beautiful and quiet location. It is surrounded by beautiful nature, especially forests and lakes. Wonderful for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating or just relaxing. We were able to watch deer, herons, green woodpeckers and kingfishers from the campsite! There are plenty of activities for young and old on the campsite, such as mini golf, table tennis, outdoor games, various boats to hire or playing in the playground. The sanitary facilities are clean, functional and sufficient. The shower is controlled by a card, but there is no overall time limit. There are some showers with hand showers, ideal for girls with long hair or children. There is a mini-shop on site with the essentials and a small café, which offers delicious cakes and coffee as well as small snacks. The owners, Tina and Torben, are very welcoming and always took the time to answer our questions. We felt completely at home here and can highly recommend this campsite!

"Fantastic location - At this campsite you really are in the middle of nature. There are lots of hiking opportunities in the forest and by the water, directly from the campsite. The campsite is very well maintained and very clean. The operators are very nice, but also very enterprising. With 2 people, 2 dogs and a pitch for the camper van with a good view (highly recommended), you can expect to pay over €50 per night.

"A disappointment - Was at Skyttehuset about 5 years ago when the old couple had the space, so when we had to vacation in Denmark again this year, the choice fell on Skyttehuset but it was a disappointment, knowing that new owner new initiatives BUT it was a big disappointment. The reception itself was poor, the service in the cafeteria was poor,

"Super nice campsite for families with children - We (family with two small children) stayed at the site for two nights in our VW California. Sensational location directly on a lake. Super quiet for a long time, no noise from permanent campers on the site. Sanitary facilities very clean and super nice operators. A clear recommendation from us, we will definitely be back.

"Dream camp in a beautiful location - I was there with my motorcycle and tent. The camp is located in a beech forest on the shores of Lake Silkeborg and is actually one of the most beautifully situated campsites in Denmark. The lake is a great water sports area. Canoes paddle past, children play on the shore, a family of ducks quack, a barbecue smoulders somewhere. The perfect camping idyll. I loved it and the cafeteria with barbecue is also a real plus, especially if you're on the road on a motorcycle. I only found peace and quiet late at night because the neighbors were partying late into the night. There are rules - like everywhere else - but unfortunately nobody pays attention to them and I didn't dare go over and complain. Nevertheless, the site is first class and the sanitary facilities are premium. The only downside was that the motorcycle was not allowed in and had to be left outside in the forest parking lot overnight. However, I was allowed to drive in briefly and unload my luggage. Still, that doesn't suit me at all.

From Århus drive trough Ry …road nr.445 straight out of Rodelundsvej (pass the sign to Himmelbjerg) turn right at Tønningsletvej (Himmelbjergegnens Efterskole) follow the road about 3 km then turn right at Slåen sø sign.
