"Beautiful and familiar - You can really feel at home on this campsite. In addition to the fantastic location in the middle of nature, the atmosphere is also very pleasant. The operators are very friendly and helpful and are always out and about on the site. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The facilities are simple and good and completely adequate. You can take wonderful boat trips between the islands in the lake from the campsite. There is a jetty for mooring and there is also a shallow area where you can canoe directly from the shore into the water - although it is a bit swampy. The only disadvantage of being in the middle of nature is the long distance to the nearest store. However, you can pre-order freshly baked baguettes for breakfast from the nearby restaurant.

"Enchanting location in the middle of the lake - The location shown on the map is not correct! The campsite is located at the northern tip of the island of Torpön directly on the sound with the small ferry connection - i.e. ON the island and not next to it. Unfortunately, the site offers very few pitches for travelers with tents, caravans or mobile homes. The pitches are mainly occupied by seasonal guests. The pitches are terraced between trees and rocks in different locations and sizes. Very individual and some with a direct view of the lake. We received a very friendly welcome and felt comfortable and welcome right from the start. The small restaurant at the ferry dock is also run in a professional and friendly manner. We were able to hire canoes, experience a steamboat trip and take our bikes with us for the way back. The various hiking trails on the island are beautifully laid out as winding trails in the landscape - highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is absolutely right. We will definitely be back.

"You can really do a lot of things wrong, or: I won't go there anymore - I was guided by the reviews. Location is really great. Unfortunately too expensive for what it offers. 220 SEK for outdated sanitary facilities, showers cost an extra 50 SEK, which is really too much. Apart from camping, no other facilities, not even for children. The climbing garden costs extra and may not even be part of the campsite. The owner is not the friendly type. Maybe he's outgrowing the place, but as a camper I don't have to deal with that. I won't be going there again. Tip: Hätte Camping is opposite. 225 SEK incl. electricity+shower+use of fridge. Too bad about Torpöns Camping, because the site is actually in a great location.

" - ***Update 2010: the new operators from 2007 seem to have stopped again, there was an older gentleman as contact person, possibly the former operator. In any case, he is anything but pleasant. The price quoted on arrival did not match the price at the end (as in the other entry here). There was an aggressive exchange of words. Too bad, because this is a very nicely located place. In any case, the significantly higher prices are not due to the sanitary facilities, which urgently need to be renovated. Update end*** Now the rating from 2006: pure idyll. At the northern end of the island of Torpön with a café and car ferry (both close a little too early in the evening). The pitches are very nice and not wet, even when it rains. Ideal for hiking and cycling on the island, for swimming and boating. A small jetty + filling station for boats. A small museum. Unfortunately there is no ferry service to Tranås, so you sometimes have to walk a long way. The next village Boxholm is not interesting. The small store at the campsite only just covers your needs. The operators changed in 2007 and prices have risen considerably. Lake Sommen, which surrounds the campsite, is a dream of a lake.
