" - English below... We spent 5 wonderful days at this very well-kept campsite in the middle of nature. And if we hadn't had to return to Germany, we would have gladly extended our stay for a few more days. The view of the Derbyshire Dales was simply unique, a few sheep grazed not far from our spacious pitch - simply idyllic! The site leaves nothing to be desired - the pitches are equipped with water and electricity connections. Wi-Fi is available to a limited extent. The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean and in top condition. The campsite also has a small kitchen equipped with a freezer, washing machine and dryer. But what makes the campsite special is the owner Sue, who adds a little warmth with her warmth, making you feel at home. We just spent 5 wonderful days at this very well-kept campsite, situated in the heart of nature. And if we didn't have to go back to Germany we would have stayed much longer! We had fantastic views of the Derbyshire Dales; not far from our pitch there were sheep grazing - so idyllic. The campsite leaves no desires unfulfilled - pitches are equipped with electricity and water. Wi-Fi is available in the vicinity of the Toilet/Shower block. They have separate ladies and gents showers and toilets and a disabled wet room, all of which were spotlessly clean and in top condition. In addition, the site has a little kitchen and is equipped with a freezer, a washing machine and a dryer. We will never forget Sue's warmth and friendliness which made our stay so special. We will definitely come back!

Description

Profile

Upper Hurst Farm is just 2 miles from the picturesque village of Hartington by road or by footpath and offers first class facilities with an unrivalled panorama of almost 360 degree views over open countryside. This is English countryside at …its best and is perfect for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists alike. Upper Hurst Farm is a new, family-run site that opened in April 2012, offering 24 generous super-pitches (11x11 metres) and a small camping area with the option of electric hook-up. Six of the super-pitches will be available all year round. The super-pitches are 50% grass and 50% hard-standing with electric, water and a grey waste drain. On-site facilities include a luxurious, purpose-built, grit stone toilet and shower block with under floor heating. There are 3 toilets and showers each for Ladies and Men, plus a disabled toilet and shower that doubles-up as a parent and child washroom. There is also a laundry and pot-washing room. Free range eggs are available for sale from our chickens and camping gas is also available for sale. The caravan and camping site is set in 30 acres of farmland at the southern end of the Peak District National Park with walks & cycling right from the site. Beresford Dale is only a 1km away, which can be reached via footpaths or road, and takes you through some magnificent limestone scenery including Wolfscote Dale, Biggin Dale (a nature reserve), Milldale and Dovedale. The spectacular Lathkill Dale, with its turquoise waters is only about 15 minutes drive. Two very popular cycle routes are also very close to the caravan site, including the Manifold Valley, (approximately 1 km) and the Tissington Trail, which is about 4 km from the site. The newly opened Monsal Trail is 10 km. On site we have a 1.8 hectare field for children to play and around the perimeter of the field is a path for dog-walkers. Upper Hurst Farm is less than 10 miles to the market towns of Buxton, Leek, Ashbourne and Bakewell, which offer a wide range of retail facilities and leisure activities. For those that wish to eat out the family-friendly and dog-friendly Manifold Inn is within walking distance, being about 0.75km away; in Hartington there are a number of pubs and a high quality Hotel, The Charles Cotton, which also has electric bikes available to rent. We believe in working with nature and the land. All of our heating and hot water requirements are met by a biomass boiler and a large array of solar panels is planned for 2014. This will mean that we will be up to 75% fully sustainable. At Upper Hurst Farm our ethos is 'peace and tranquility'
