"Nice campsite for families with teenagers - We were at the campsite for two weeks at the end of June/beginning of July. The second week was much busier. The pool in particular was very busy then. The site is well maintained, the pitches are parceled out and very nice. We had a pitch facing the beach, which is also highly recommended as this area is relatively quiet in the evening. (The entertainment program takes place at the front of the pool area) The campsite offers a varied entertainment program, not only for children but also for teenagers. However, most of the entertainment staff speak little English and very little or no German. From pool parties, foam parties, cooking courses to action by the sea (banana boat rides, etc.), there is a lot on offer here! There is also a good and varied sports entertainment program. The pizza to pick up is a little more expensive than in Germany but very tasty. You can get everything you need in the supermarket and greengrocer's store on site. It's certainly a bit more expensive than in large supermarkets, but I found the prices really reasonable. I've seen other supermarkets on campsites that are really different. We did do some shopping in the big supermarkets from time to time, but you have to drive a few kilometers by car. (At least 8km on a road with frequent heavy traffic.) The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was perfectly fine. There was disinfectant in the toilets. A small point of criticism was that there were no soap dispensers at the washbasins, so washing your hands there was only possible without soap if you didn't bring your own. The beach was very beautiful, clean, the water clear and wonderfully refreshing. However, the path through the hot sand in the sun was a bit difficult at times, even if it wasn't long. Laying out wooden boards/planks, as was done on the public beach, would certainly be the missing icing on the cake of a really beautiful beach. We would recommend the campsite without reservation, but will not visit it a second time, which is not due to the campsite, but rather to the region. As we are not holidaymakers who only stay at the campsite for two weeks and would like to go on a little excursion at least once in a while, we were not entirely satisfied with the region, as we only liked the surroundings to a limited extent. Although there are nice cycle/walking paths along the Canal du Midi, which we used for jogging, and the nearest town (Portiragnes approx. 6km away) is also quite nice, the excursion options in the immediate vicinity (if, like us, you're not into theme parks) are rather rare. A day trip to Carcassonne is definitely worthwhile, even if you have to drive about 100km. Conclusion: A great campsite in an area that you don't necessarily have to visit a second time. (But of course this is also a matter of taste :-)

Description

Profile

Les Sablons campsite is located on a Mediterranean beach and lagoon near Portiragnes-Plage (Languedoc-Roussillon). It is a very luxurious campsite with a large water park and a separate balneo pool with spa, numerous sports and play facilities and a rich …entertainment programme for young and old. As soon as you check in, you will feel the atmosphere and appreciate the services of this well-equipped campsite. The campsite is divided into ‘quarters’. Some of the cabins are located on the lagoon side, with a view of the water. The most luxurious rental accommodation is located in another area. The cottages have a wooden terrace or a private garden with wooden garden furniture. The pitches are large, nicely laid out and partly separated from each other. The big advantage of Les Sablons is its location on the wide sandy beach of Portiragnes-Plage. The beach is directly accessible from the campsite via a guarded entrance. If you are looking for optimal fun, you can rent a pedal boat. You can also take an exciting ride on the banana boat, go sailing or play beach volleyball. The biggest attraction of this campsite is the varied entertainment programme. For the little ones, there is a mini club where they can do handicrafts, take part in water games, build sandcastles and dance. For slightly older teenagers, the ‘Club Ado’ is particularly entertaining, where various events are organised in two age groups. Some examples of the activities on offer: football tournaments, sliding competitions, beach games and tree climbing courses. Evenings are far from boring either. Enjoy a camping show, a foam party, evening bathing, live music or a cabaret show.
