We spontaneously booked a place for a week on site at the beginning of September.
Very friendly welcome (Spanish, English or French; some German).
Pitches separated by hedges. There are some "bungalows" on the site (in my opinion, this is no longer camping) - but this is not a problem.
International... visitors, but also many Spaniards (which in my view speaks very positively for the site).
It's best to take a bike to the beach (approx. 8 minutes).
There are 2 very nice beaches in Zumaia. Both have a café/bar and showers on the beach.

We actually planned to stay for two nights but decided within the first day to stay only one because it took only one day to visit everything of interest within and around the town.
So when I went to the reception I was told I could not get the money for the second night back due to a change in the cashier... system two weeks ago. So there was no way for a cancellation! I must say I did not believe the unfriendly man at the reception. Therefore we finally paid a double price for an already expensive night (28 Euro for mid season without electricity, which would have cost another 5,50 € per day). And the pool area was also still closed.
The camping side is located on a hill in the industrial areas which does not really disturb. But there is almost no shade on the place. Beside all that there is nothing to do on the campsite.
Only the sanitary facilities are modern and absolutely clean.
Result: We can not recommend this place.

Voy a compartir mi penosa visita en este camping familiar, después de hacer reserva y confirmar que podían ser 2 o 3 noches y pagar 1 por adelantado, cuando llegamos nos obligaban hacer 3 y que si queríamos irnos antes era nuestro problema.
Haciendo el cheking mi hijo pequeño de 6 años se hizo daño en... su instalación un parque con colchonetas elasticas, le pedí hielo y me dijo que el no era una farmacia de muy malas maneras que no me podía dar una aspirina y tuve que comprar una bolsa de hielo 2,5 € me cobro, O sea de camping familiar tiene poco si no puede dar unos mínimos auxilios ya que me dijo que el vendía vendas betadine pero que no podía dar nada.. alucinante!!! Con toda esta situación tensa nos dijo que por derecho de admisión nos hechaba del camping a las 9 de la noche un 18 de agosto todo lleno de gente y sin ningún camping mas.
Pusimos denuncia por supuesto y nos dijeron que era un hombre muy grosero y sin escrupulos. Cuando vino la policia increpo diciendo que mi hijo con el pie como una pelota había salido saltando de su oficina que no estaba tan malo y vio que salía el mayor de vehículo y les aviso para que lo miraran que no tenia nada, cuando el pobre lo saque cogido en brazos y no podía apoyar ya que al volver a Tarragona de noche fuimos a urgencias y tenia un esguince en el pie. Nos tuvimos que ir llegando a las 5 de la mañana a nuestra casa desmoralizados por esta mala persona.
DESPUES DE HECHARNOS DE MALAS MANERAS NO NOS ABONO NI LA RESERVA, ES UN LADRON, SE QUEDO CON NUESTRO DINERO!!!!
LA POLICIA NOS ENSEÑO DOS ZONAS DE CAMPER EN EL MISMO POLIGONO DONDE ESTA EL CAMPING Y EL ZONA NAUTICA SIN PROBLEMA!!!!

We stayed at Camping Zumaia as a family with a dog for a few nights in August 2016. Top and grade 1 for the sanitary facilities, dishwashing and washing facilities. Sufficient, new, beautiful ... you can't say anything. Almost only local vacationers. The location is rather challenging for families without... a car when it comes to excursions. There are buses and trains nearby to Zarautz and San Sebatian, but you also have to get to the station. The site is located in a really unattractive industrial area on the edge of Zumaia on a hill. The pitches don't really have any shade and are laid out as terraces. You can have peace and quiet, but this is rather random and not reliable, depending on whether there are groups of young people partying and bawling half the night. It is also possible to carry out demanding activities that require light at night when the square is illuminated. The Orrua restaurant is not recommended unless you just want a drink... totally overpriced and not really tasty. To take the dog for a walk, you have to walk down the hill and back up again. Conclusion: It was okay, but we wouldn't go there again and we can't recommend it either, except for passing through.
