During this period, there was no electricity on the campsite to occupy the caravan that had been placed in the meantime.
Always new excuses from the operator. The electrician was to blame, the... Rheinhessiche etc.
Telephone calls and questions to the operator were finally stalled.
Without electricity there is no light, no fridge, no radio or TV, the fan for the heating remains silent.
Charging cell phones or operating medical devices not possible.
On 03. 05. 2023 I removed my caravan.
In the meantime I had taken a look at the premises. These are very much in need of getting used to.
I would like to spare myself further statements. These have been described in detail by other campers on these pages.
When it rained, the site could only be entered with rubber shoes.
"Mud and deep water holes".
Fortunately, with the help of a lawyer, I got my money back at the beginning of July.
With a loss of approx. 1/3 of the amount paid.

Many permanent campers block the box pitches. The transit campers have to make do with the rear pitches and are not exactly spoiled in any other way. Sanitary facilities that don't deserve their name, site hygiene that leaves a lot to be desired, a groundsman who keeps... you waiting, seasonal catering with temporary student staff who serve food and drinks with a regional focus rather clumsily. The best thing on the square is the Italian restaurant in the pizza van, which offers reasonably good quality food from the wood-fired oven. Unfortunately, it's not always open...Automatski prevedeno.

Sanitary facilities very inferior and outdated. No toilet paper in toilets. No disposal station for chemical toilet and gray water only a drain pipe in the ground. Children's playground? A filthy defective sandbox 1x1... meter with a mini plastic slide in it so really shabby. We left the food in the beer garden establishment as it didn't appeal to us at all when we saw the cleanliness in the front area and imagined the same in the kitchen. It looks like a garbage dump and the pitches are unkempt. There is not a single waste bin on the whole site and garbage should be deposited at the counter in the restaurant (hygiene?) Hygiene is... an issue with which the temporary staff at the counter and kitchen have a problem anyway. The sanitary containers are old and rickety with soaked floors. The steps to the containers are wobbly metal grates laid on bricks. The outside sink for the camping toilets consists of an open pipe in the meadow. 28.50€ for 2 people for one night for this place, wedged in by permanent campers who don't know their pitch size, cyclists speeding past in front and behind, a bargain!!!Automatski prevedeno.

The driveway looks like a caravan scrapyard. The dogs of the permanent campers run around freely and leave their poop everywhere. The sanitary facilities, although only containers, are clean and there is plenty of hot water. The rest, wellThe location is actually quite nice, unfortunately all pitches in the 1st row on the Rhine are occupied by permanent campers, but 80% of them are not there. Sometimes there is bulky waste on the pitch, if you are at the end of the pitch it is a very long way to the only sanitary container. Where does the garbage go? The local authority put a road closure sign on the road and there was no indication. We then asked the local residents. The staff are very nice and helpful, despite being in the 2nd row we had a good view of the Rhine. The pitches are spacious. The location is simply wonderful, it's quiet, the permanent campers are friendly. The sanitary facilities are just about bearable if you are not sensitive. Containers, wobbly taps, no toilet paper, everything full of mosquitoes, overall school grade 5. the shower water... is actually hot, a plus point. Gastro is ok, but the glasses are always dirty, the staff are young and inexperienced. The new groundsman makes every effort to write to the owner about reservations - a test of patience: unfriendly and rather listless. The location is just a dream, probably the reason why it is always full. Too bad, you could make a great place out of it and I would gladly pay the higher price.Automatski prevedeno.

We also had a view of the Rhine from the second row. We didn't use the sanitary facilities as we had our own. We visited the restaurant on site quite often, the choice was plentiful, the food good and the... prices reasonable. There were 10 of us, some of whom were staying at the hotel in Heidesheim, and everyone was satisfied. The wine was good and the staff were friendly throughout. There is little in the way of infrastructure in terms of leisure and catering - but for us it was still the perfect place for a relaxed long weekend. The campsite scores points for its great location on the Rhine, without being cut off from the riverbank by a fence... or farm road. The pitches are in two rows along the river, although most of the pitches in the row on the bank are reserved for permanent campers. The sanitary containers have obviously been renovated (see previous reviews). They are simple, but bright and always clean. Both the great Mediterranean cuisine at the campsite restaurant and the nearby "Zum Froschkönig" restaurant are highly recommended. Addendum: The site is now almost completely occupied by permanent campers, so a spontaneous trip over the weekend is no longer really possible. The permanent campers continue to be pleasantly unbourgeois, with open fires blazing in many corners.
