"Space in a good location - We visited the site in the pre-season, it was already well occupied at this time, mostly repeaters. You reach the campsite via an access road that ends in a dead end and has a 7% gradient at the end. This takes away the fun of cycling tours for every cyclist! The access and exit to the site is another challenge (estimated gradient approx. 15%), but there is an access aid with a cable winch. Due to the volcanic origin of the island, the restaurants on the beach can only be reached via a wooden walkway directly on the beach. You can make beautiful hiking tours e.g. San Antonio is the next bay where our chancellor is on vacation, also the place Ischia with a vibrant city center is worth a trip. As for the campsite itself, it is not very big. The structural condition is rather old, this is especially true for the sanitary facilities, as we heard, the authorities are not allowed to make any structural renovations. The island is bubbling at every corner and every hotel offers mud cures which can also be used publicly. All in all you can recommend the place, a vehicle would be nice for exploring and errands, we had our moped which had a lot of trouble with the slope. The place in this location is probably unique as well as the whole island with its own flair!!! You should have seen it.

" - The only campsite in Ischia directly by the sea, open all year round, beautiful location with a coarse sandy beach. Thermal baths in the immediate vicinity, very good restaurant on site (but only from Easter to around the end of September). Dogs are allowed all year round except in August. Overcrowded in August, otherwise rather quiet. Sanitary facilities very basic, but clean; hot showers only with purchase of jetons. Supply and disposal facilities for campers available. We have been coming here again and again for years.

Profil

The Camping Mirage overlook straight to Maronti beach, the longest beach on the Island, average 2 km., faces south and cross the territory of Barano and Serrara-Fontana. The area is full of mineral waters and termal hot springs like Olmitello …and Cavascura attended first by the Greeks and later by the Romans as places of care and health. In the final part of Maronti bay you can see the Fumarole, hot sands good for rheumatism. The area where is situated the "Camping Mirage" offers you many Thermal Parks as well as free beach spaces for those who prefer a more "wild" contact with the sea. A path behind the beach lead you to St. Angelo, once ancient fishermen village only reached by the sea. An efficient service of Taxi - Boat link up Maronti to St. Angelo in a few minutes with stops in Olmitello, Cavascura and Fumarole. The Camping Mirage has modern services and infrastructures suitable for receive Caravans, Campers and Tents. You can make excursions in the neighborhood of the Camping Mirage, just behind the peak on the left side of the Maronti beach you will discover another dimension. From the Testaccio Square you can reach the "Monte Cotto", average 2 km., and have a wide view of the south-west side of the island with the "Monte Epomeo". If you go towards the right side you can see the "Olmitello Source", then Cavascura, then "Fumarole" and finally St. Angelo.
