It was great that we were allowed to choose our own pitch and got a good tip from the host on how to position our caravan.
We had a pitch with a mystical location and a view of the Schlücht, which we could reach via a small staircase. This was... especially great for our children (3,6,8) for building and walking in the river.
Mr. Wiesner was always available and had an open ear for us and gave us some good excursion destinations. He also saw the children and catered to them.
The sanitary facilities were cleaned very well twice a day and the staff were always very friendly.

To protect the privacy and property of our campers and to protect our property, we no longer allow passers-by access to our site.
Every day dozens of passers-by and onlookers come to visit our site. Meanwhile, there are guests on the site enjoying their vacation. This would be over if a... lot of people just walked around the square. I think they would also like to have their peace and quiet...
If I remember you correctly (you came by car and said you were on your way by bike) I pointed out to you that we don't allow access, but I don't remember sending you away...

The restaurant's food and drinks menu.NegatívumokThe noise during the day, which is bearable for a city dweller, is put into perspective by the quiet at nightA campsite to feel good atA small, very well-kept site on the banks of the Schlücht in the north of Waldshut-Tiengen. It is laid out in terraces, with the lowest terrace, like a clearing in the middle of the forest, guaranteeing a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The very committed owner regularly enquires whether everything is... to your satisfaction and also suggests possible excursion destinations.
Thanks to the manageable size, all distances are short, the wash house is very clean and hot showers are free of charge. The reception is in a small restaurant ("Gaststube zur Schlücht") with an equally small but excellent food and drink menu.
If, like us, you come from the city, you accept the noise, very loud during the day due to the road leading into the Black Forest on the other bank of the Schlücht (trucks, motorcycles) and in the air due to the proximity to Zurich-Kloten airport (there are flights again) - at night, however, it is pleasantly very quiet, you can only hear the rushing of the stream.
Two high-voltage power lines run across the site, but were not perceived as disturbing.
Possible excursion destinations:
Black Forest, e.g. Schluchsee, Titisee, Feldberg, St. Blasien
Old town of Waldshut (especially Kaiserstraße)
Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen (approx. 40 km)
Lake Constance (Constance approx. 90 km)
Switzerland (Zurich, approx. 50 km)

Restaurant with garden and good cuisine.NegatívumokThe road leading past is partly used as a race track (not the CP's fault).Small and pleasant CPBeautiful campsite with mature trees, so there is always shade somewhere. The sanitary facilities are well maintained and very clean. Showers and WC in a separate room. Showers cost 50 cents, but are sufficient without having to pay extra. The campsite is located directly on the Schlücht, where you can... cool your feet (and more). It is shallow and relatively safe for children under supervision.
Restaurant with garden for eating outside. Nice selection of hot and cold dishes.
The operators (CP and restaurant) are very nice, attentive and helpful.
You can hear the road behind the trees and bushes, but it is quiet at night.
It takes an hour to walk to the game reserve, a facility in the forest with native wild animals. There is a kiosk with snacks and drinks.
