We were there for 3 days in the week with the motorhome and found the place very nice. Even though it was not directly on the lake, we had a beautiful view of the lake, which was not obstructed. We were told that many motorcyclists arrive there at... the weekend and it is then very restless, which we cannot confirm, although a motorcycle group was there. The sanitary facilities were clean and in good condition. Otherwise, the guests are usually responsible for the condition. We can only recommend the campsite. Tourist pitches directly on the water.NegatívumokCountry road within earshot, inadequate power distribution on the tourist pitches, characterized by permanent campers, outdated sanitary facilities in the first wash house, no longer up to the simplest standard, new wash house located at the end of the site (long distances), no sufficient fresh water taps available, festival and group meadow adjacent with corresponding unrest, tourist pitches partly in the rain without solid ground for heavy caravans and camper vans, beach and sunbathing lawn not maintained.For those passing through....We were on our way home with the caravan and needed a place to stay for the night. The site is very easy to reach from the highway and in a relatively beautiful location, with plenty of space at the Kelbra reservoir. The barrier system for access to the site is controlled by chip cards and the closing... times are actually ideal (07:00 - 22:00), but the deposit for the chip card is only paid out from 08:00 on return. That's why we stayed at the transit pitches in front of reception for one night for only 15.00 euros including electricity, which was okay.
The lake is actually beautiful, but unfortunately without a real bathing area on the campsite. The pitches for tourists are right by the water or right by the road, with no pitch layout. Free choice of where to pitch. The lawn/meadow is partly overgrown and not mowed. Electricity is only available via a few connections, unfortunately very disorganized.
Friendly, professional reception staff.
It is noteworthy that a new, attractive wash house is located at the end of the site, at a great distance from the access road, while the old pre-turnaround wash house is centrally located on the site. It is better not to enter this one, as the facilities and hygiene concept there are in a state of emergency. It is actually incomprehensible that such contrasts can be found on a campsite! There is an urgent need for investment here.
There are rental huts and sleeping barrels and many permanent campers. There is an adjacent sailing harbor and a festival and group meadow (watch out for the noise!!).
The site is a good starting point for exploring the Kyffhäuser, visiting Nebra Ark and the attractions of the southern Harz.
However, the site management should seek further conceptual advice from leisure and camping experts. There is untapped potential here. How can a restaurant be closed for vacation during the high season? Especially as it is the only one on the site. Unfortunately, the campsite has no influence on this, as the restaurant is run independently.
We were banned from swimming the whole time because of blue-green algae.... You can understand the reason for this, but you don't have to! We didn't understand it and I don't want to judge it either... However, I think the cranes and the campsite have got on very well over the last few years. The campsite clearly has potential if you put some money into it and train the staff a bit

First impression: everything was good, view of the sea from the barrel, clean sanitary facilities.
Second impression: The barrel had only been cleaned... very roughly, if at all. When we made our beds, we first pulled hair, chip crumbs and a bloody handkerchief out of the cracks. You have to know that the table is pushed under the "slatted frame" of the mattresses...that's what the table looked like. But as we are down-to-earth people, we first cleaned up quickly and then moved into the accommodation anyway. (it was now clean)
Later we went on a tour of the campsite with dinner at the snack bar and made an unpleasant discovery: a very run-down beach, old signs referring to blue-green algae and a swimming ban (at least 2 years old and unfortunately still up to date). There were stinking carpets of algae on the beach. On to the "great" deserted lido ... same picture. The only pleasure in the sense of bathing would be a small water slide for which you would have had to pay 2€/day.
The food at the camping snack bar was not great, even for snack bar quality. My child even left his macaroni and preferred to eat a dry slice in the accommodation.
Last consolation...the boat rental: supposedly closed due to Corona.
The only thing left for us was to go to an outdoor pool every day because we wanted a swimming vacation, so we left after 3 nights and although I expressly said that I was not looking for a refund, the reception staff was still unfriendly.
According to Dauercamperinfo, a lot of guests usually leave after 2-3 nights despite booking here.
Incidentally, we were also allowed to watch the final cleaning of the barrel until the call that it was now clean. This consisted of clearing out the bed linen and locking the door!

Unfortunately, there was some unbearable... noise on the site. On the first night, the various groups of campers had at least turned down their music in the evening. On the second night there was a party on the neighboring property with sound until 3am! Sleep was out of the question. Depending on the staff employed, friendly and competent to very unfriendly and unwilling to work. The place was totally quiet until the party riot from 10pm to 8am the next day. The more modern sanitary facilities are good and clean, the old ones... from the time before the fall of the Berlin Wall no longer work and are very unclean. The huge pitch meadow is beautiful and you can choose your own pitch. The staff are very nice.

The campsite is located in a nature reserve and therefore not everything can be done that is now standard at an upscale campsite with 5 stars. That's why we only have 3 stars. Overall, however, I can say that the price/performance ratio is absolutely... fine. Anyone who comes here will be able to experience pure nature, no matter what time of year. The campsite is suitable for families and children, dogs are also welcome and it has everything you would expect from a 3-star category. There is currently a small restaurant with moderate prices, the food is not microwaved but freshly prepared. There is also a bread roll service to order and sandwiches that make breakfast easier for those who take advantage of this offer. Otherwise, if you look, you will always find what you want. In other words, you will also find what you want to find. The sanitary facilities in the old area are not the newest, but they are clean and well maintained. Although they are cleaned daily, there are still some users who cannot behave themselves and have probably forgotten good manners at home. However, this phenomenon can probably be found everywhere on campsites in one form or another. This campsite is actually an insider tip in my eyes. It has been in existence for 50 years and was built in the early days with a lot of help from the campers of the time. Some of these campers are still on the site today. Many campers who have been to this campsite return again and again. Why? Anyone who has stayed at this campsite for a longer period of time should answer this question for themselves. A glance at the map is enough for those who are interested in exploring the region. You are in an ancient cultural region that was regularly visited by the German emperors. Many cultural sights are within easy reach from here. Of course, cultural life does not pass us by either. There are a few events every year where it gets a little louder, but these can be inquired about at reception. Those who love peace and quiet should not necessarily come at these times. But it is a very good, average CP.A beautifully located CP with very friendly staff.We were with a group of about 30 people (with about 18 cars) for -individually different- 11 days on the CP. We had therefore made the reservation many months in advance. The staff are really very nice and helpful, whether at reception, the groundsmen or the cleaning staff. There is an extra meadow for... groups at the eastern end of the campsite. Next to this is the newer sanitary block and the rentable bungalow with a lounge for parties and a fully equipped kitchen. You even get dishcloths, towels, washing-up liquid and tabs. A snack bar with bread roll service is available. The meals are simple and tasty. The bungalows type 1 and 2 are obviously still from GDR times. The sleeping barrels are relatively new and the type 3 bungalows are somewhere in between. The bungalow for rent and the reception have been painted this year. There are many opportunities for water sports at the campsite. The restaurant of the adjacent lido and restaurants on the slope above the campsite are within walking distance. Most navigation systems lead you to the parking lot of the lido, but the entrance to the campsite is about 1km further west. The many negative reviews beforehand had made us a little skeptical. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was very good and average for a campsite. You can also see that the campsite is cleaned daily, the grass is mowed, maintenance work is carried out and tradesmen are also working. There are many excursion possibilities in the immediate vicinity, such as the Barbarossa Cave, the Imperial Castle Kyffhausen with the Kyffhäuser Monument, the Imperial Palace Tilleda, the Heimkehle Cave, the towns of Sangerhausen with Rosarium and Spengler Museum, Nordhausen, Sondershausen with Possen, Bad Frankenhausen with the Peasants' War Monument and brine bath and Stolberg with beautiful half-timbered old town and the Josephskreuz.Automatikusan lefordítva.
