- Eva S.July 2015Pozitīviquite quiet, large pitches, well maintainedNegatīvaisonly small thingsThe most beautiful we have seenWe stayed on this pitch for 18 days and would use it again. The pitches are unusually large, symmetrically divided and separated by hedges, trees and bushes. There are pitches with more or less shade, depending on what you prefer. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained and were never full,... not even at peak times. This may also have been due to the fact that the site was not fully booked even in mid-July. We found this very pleasant - there was still room to swim in the pool and people weren't standing on each other's feet in the supermarket. Other pitches we looked at had a more natural layout, which means it's hard to tell where one pitch starts and the other begins. And then you're sitting in the middle of it, as if on a platter. The only other place that would come into question would be Sunelia Interlude, which is more expensive and significantly larger (and with more halligalli), but is located directly on a supervised beach, so you could leave the children alone. For us parents, L'Ocean is more suitable, also because it is a little further away from the island's main resorts. You can go through a gate directly onto the cycle path and from there reach all the places on the island, but I think this is the case with all the places on this cycle-friendly island. The beach at L'Ocean can be reached in a few minutes via the road mentioned by the previous commentator. There are boulders piled up directly at the entrance for coastal defense purposes, which you either have to climb over or you have to walk a bit uphill until you have direct access to the beach. However, I cannot confirm that this beach is not suitable for swimming. It was perfectly fine for us and the waves were usually big enough to keep the children (almost 12 and almost 14) entertained. Apart from that, there is the really beautifully designed pool area. The children missed a slide here, but you can't have everything... There is a bit of an entertainment program (we didn't try the children's entertainment), but not too much and often quite entertaining. One evening, a solo entertainer sang French songs from the 80s and it was very funny to see how the French guests of almost all ages sang and danced along. The music stopped at midnight and as we had asked for and got a place away from the hustle and bustle, we didn't hear the music so loudly that it was disturbing. We only noticed two things that could be improved - the fact that you are only allowed in the pool at 10am, so you can't even swim a lap before breakfast, and the fact that the water taps are quite far away from each other. But nothing that really detracts.Automātiski tulkots.
- Achim S.May 2012Very nice and well-maintained CP very close to the Atlantic, pitches sunny or under shady trees, structured with bushes. Unfortunately, you have to cross a very busy road on the way to the beach, but this is relatively small at high tide anyway and the sea is far away at low tide - but still interesting... for tidal flat collectors and for observing oyster farming. In any case, the long beach invites you to take a long walk at any time, although it is very "natural" in large parts. And there is a great pool for swimming - where Bermuda shorts and shorts are prohibited. Sports enthusiasts can play tennis and mini golf here, and there is also a combined sports field for kicking a ball or shooting hoops. A large playground for kids - and free trampolines. The sanitary facilities are quite new and excellent for France - you just have to bring your own paper! A wonderful starting point for exploring the whole island by bike (also available to hire here) or by car.Automātiski tulkots.
