Gunnar B.May 2022Pozitīvi- Pool area nicely done - Nice playground - accept ACSI in the low seasonNegatīvais- No toilet paper in the wash houses - No entertainment in the early and late season - Children's playground badly in need of renovation (photos are deceptive) - Long distances to dispose of garbageWe are very ambivalent about the stayWe stayed at the site from the end of May to the beginning of June. The check-in went well and easily and we were allowed to choose a free pitch with an ACSI card. There are 2 areas on the campsite, downstairs the older area with older wash houses and upstairs a newer part with a newer wash house. The... disadvantage: It is very hilly - cycling for children is rather difficult - and if you are on the top of the new part, the walking distances to the pool, playground, restaurant etc. are already very long. The campsite is also completely in the middle of nowhere. You either have to have a scooter/car with you or you're trapped in nirvana. The pitches are super large and well maintained. Unfortunately, there is no toilet paper or soap in the wash houses. In times of Corona actually a no-go! The pool area is very nice, but unfortunately not heated. The pools were still so extremely cold in May that our children got sick straight away. At reception you can ask for a map with cycle paths and hiking trails. These paths are a disaster, some end in front of fences or the path simply ends and you have to turn around. Hiking and cycling are definitely not recommended here. The restaurant on site was really good and I would recommend everyone to go there for a meal. The children's playground is large, the play equipment is still intact but rusty and faded and very old. It really needs to be renovated. ---------------------- CONCLUSION:----------- We stayed here for the ACSI price, and the site is absolutely top! If we had come in the high season, the pool would probably have been warmer and there would also have been children's entertainment - at EUR 50 for 2 adults and a child, the prices are absolutely reasonable, even in the high season. Car parking separate, but on the pitch. Hygiene okay. Excellent value for money with the ACSI Card. But:
Bus trips to Tuscany, the islands and Rome are offered on the website. However, these have not been offered since... the start of the coronavirus.
This is understandable, but campers should not be lured by such statements on the Internet and on arrival you find out that the trips have been canceled. For us, this was the real reason for going there, as we wanted to enjoy these bus trips and avoid having to move the motorhome.
You get a map with cycle paths and hiking trails at reception. This map is not up to date. Hiking trails lead nowhere. Suddenly you find yourself in front of a locked fence and have to turn back. Cycling on unusable "cycle paths" and on the main road is life-threatening. So mixed feelings on our part. We won't consider the site again, especially as there is no bus service there. You are trapped on the site with a motorhome. Having been to small, charming campsites before, I didn't really like Valle Gaia. I would say it was a standard family campsite for Dutch and Germans. The swimming pool is also great and was well received by my children. However, I would have expected... a 4-star campsite to have toilet paper ;-)
I didn't like the location. Neither close to the sea, nor to a village you can walk through in the evening, nor a view - the campsite is practically in a hollow. A pointless location for me. From here you can go on beautiful excursions, enjoy one of the pools or drive to the sea. The pitches are spacious and separated by hedges. There is no toilet paper and rarely hot water for showering or washing up. The... gastronomy on the site, both the pizzeria and the restaurant are great! The pitches in this area, which are bordered by hedges, are very large and equipped with electricity, water and drainage. We didn't like the standard pitches in the lower part of the campsite,... which are smaller and not very nicely designed. We can advise anyone who wants to book this site to choose one of the comfort pitches. A reservation is recommended. No toilet paper in the toilets.Great place close to the seaThe Valle Gaia campsite in Tuscany has everything you need for a camping vacation. Sufficiently large pitches, good and clean sanitary facilities. These were cleaned daily in April despite minimal occupancy. A good mini-market, the wine I bought was brought to the campsite. A good pizzeria and a good... restaurant. Our dog was always welcome everywhere. It is possible to go on several hikes directly from the campsite. The staff at reception, in the two restaurants and in the mini-market were always friendly and helpful, as were the cleaners. A compliment must be paid to the owners, the site makes a very well-kept impression, they make a lot of effort to keep the site in good condition. Unfortunately, we do have two points of criticism: The drainage ditches at right angles to the driveway mean that you could get stuck with your caravan. On a four-star pitch, it would have been nice to have toilet paper in the toilet. We will be back.Automātiski tulkots.

The pitches vary in size and are sunny/shady, sometimes very uneven, but nicely separated by hedges. Water taps sometimes far away, there could be a few more. Pitches on the main... road a bit busy in the morning as many vehicles leave at 7am for departure or excursions. Store and pizzeria as well as pool bar with snacks on site, otherwise Conad, Coop, Lidl, Penny and Eurospin in Cecina. Large weekly market in Cecina on Tuesdays, well worth a visit. Pool open from 9-19 hrs. Toilet paper is not available in the wash house, but soap and an electric hand dryer are. Unfortunately the water was only lukewarm when doing the dishes, this is sometimes also the case when showering, this could be improved. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but still acceptable. It's just right that you leave the toilets the way you would do it at home. Because the cleaning ladies can't clean after everyone. Gastronomy great value for money. We look forward to eating at... the pizzeria every year. They are also very friendly. 5 pools for every age group are not standard on a campsite of this size. If you need help of any kind, we always get help at reception. Even in German. The supermarket has everything you need. And not overpriced. No intrusive animation. We visited the site at the end of May to the beginning of June and were very impressed by the location of the pitches, the sanitary facilities and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The restaurant on the... site is very good and the grocery store well stocked. The large pool area only opened after a week, but that didn't diminish our enthusiasm. - Michael G.August 2016Very nice summer vacation 2016We spent a very nice summer vacation here in August 2016. It was a great starting point for our excursions to Pisa and Rome, for example, as well as to the sea. The nearby shopping facilities (not within walking distance) have everything your heart desires. The supermarket on the campsite has all the... essentials you need and is quite well laid out. The pizzeria on the campsite is highly recommended. There is a pleasant atmosphere on the site and the operators were also very nice. We had our pitch on the 2nd of 3 levels. The access road is quite steep and with our very deep caravan it was difficult to pass at the bottom as it sat on the back. We then put wooden planks under the wheels to overcome the driveway at the base. All in all, however, it is a very nice place and the children also had fun in the pools. Very nice location with a view of the mountains if you stand on the upper pitches. We were at the top and could enjoy the sun. In summer I would rather stand below under the many trees. Modern and clean sanitary facilities. It's only 4 km by bike... to the town and right by the sea. W-LAN costs extra, which is already included in many other places.
