This place is perfect for that. Whether bus, Wachau train or boat, everything is available in the immediate vicinity, and it is the first choice for cyclists, as it is located directly on the Danube... cycle path. The site is very clean, including the sanitary facilities, and it is not parceled out. Cooking facilities and washing machines are also available. The relaxed atmosphere is very pleasant. There are two things I would like to mention: One or two additional toilets would help to avoid traffic jams, and earplugs are advisable for guests who might have problems with the truck traffic on the B3 that starts at 5 am.
Conclusion: Very well suited to come and see everything possible in the Wachau, eat and drink well and then drive on. We stayed nine nights with an ACSI card and received a bonus day (low season!)NegatīvaisInternet is available but unfortunately only weak, unfortunately no shopping facilities directly in the village, you have to drive into Melk.Pleasant "normal" campsite near Melk/DanubeWe were there in September and found a very tidy and carefully managed site. The family who run the site have renovated it thoroughly and ensure that the sanitary facilities are clean and that bread rolls are served in the morning. On top of that, the operators are very friendly and helpful. That's service... enough!
Just outside the campsite gate is a friendly snack bar (open until 8 p.m.) and a Steckerlfisch grill (Fri-Sun), both of which are well frequented and highly recommended.
The site is located on the Danube cycle path and is therefore well frequented. The reception is prepared for this and opens in the morning until 12.00 noon and in the evening only at 6.00 pm. On arrival you look for a free pitch of your choice, the barrier is always open, electricity and water are freely available. You then register in the evening. Works great ...
There are about 50 pitches for caravans and motorhomes, including tents. Donaucamping Emmersdorf is the ideal starting point. The site is right next to the Danube, opposite Melk, is centrally located... and quiet thanks to the flood protection. It is not too big, beautifully laid out and lovingly maintained. The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean, there are plenty of power points and we have a free choice of pitches at this time of year. The operators are friendly, relaxed and we thank them for the tip about the Steckerlfisch.
And for cyclists, bikers and lovers of the traditional cozy, we recommend the wine barrel for overnight stays. There are five of them, but we recommend making a reservation as they are very popular.
