- Hermann S.August 2019Always worth a visitBeautiful CP. The location by the sea is phenomenal. However, at least a bicycle is necessary to get away from here. Public transport virtually non-existent and it is at least 3 km to the top. Sanis were not particularly clean. Less due to the cleaning and more due to the campers - unfortunately. Friendly... staff. In Oban there is probably the world's best seafood kiosk and the famous Oban distillery (founded in 1794). Several ferries leave from here to the offshore islands of the inner Hybrids. The harbor area is very nice with several restaurants.Automātiski tulkots.
- Heike B.July 2012The location is wonderful, high above the water, great view, very quiet. Great hiking trail above the campsite. Like an enchanted fairytale forest with gnarled moss-covered trees, tall ferns and a view of the sea. Well-stocked store, small tables in front of it, where we enjoyed a beer and the kids an... ice cream on the 2 evenings and the view of Oban (haha) from above. TOP for the children: free-range, trusting chickens and ducks, which we were allowed to feed, and a small petting zoo with rabbits and small chicks, which our two children (2.5 and 5.5 at the time) were allowed to stroke and hold together with the owner. The Scots are very, very child-friendly! A tame raven that let itself be fed was also funny... Basic sanitary facilities (rather modern by Scottish standards, the first shower with permanently hot water), but clean. The way TO the site was adventurous though, very narrow road, mostly for miles directly along the sea, we just hoped that our T4 with caravan wouldn't meet another caravan. Fortunately, this was not the case! Oban is a nice little place. Highly recommended!Automātiski tulkots.
