Good location in / on the wall and restaurant available. Dörenther Klippen and historical leisure park within walking distance.
Highly recommended place in a good location!
It is a smaller site in/near the forest. We were on the tent meadow in a small clearing, even with covered benches and tables at the barbecue area. We found the place quite idyllic and you have the feeling that it has remained largely unchanged for years owner-managed family campsite. The sanitary facilities... are a bit old-fashioned and dark, but perfectly okay and clean. However, if guests leave them dirty, I can't judge how often they are cleaned. We liked the restaurant with beer garden right next to it. There was a trampoline and a small, somewhat overgrown playground. Close to the tent meadow, behind a wooden fence, is the access road (dead end) which is also used by many hikers. You can hear the main country road. It's great that you can walk directly to the beautiful Dörenther Klippen and also to the historic 90-year-old summer toboggan run and historic leisure park. We found the place really good and the 2 people we had contact with were authentic and friendly. If you have high expectations and are looking for a modern site with "bells and whistles" and sanitary facilities to today's high standards and professional reception and a free location and plenty of space, it is probably not the right campsite.

Very unfriendly staff, sanitary facilities are getting on in years
Unfriendly, in need of renovation
The only positive thing is the location in the middle of the forest. Since the highway is close by, it is not very quiet. The sanitary facilities are getting old, only two showers for the men and the hot water takes about 5 minutes to reach the shower and is only lukewarm. The older staff (operators) have forgotten what customer friendliness means. Dog friendliness only exists towards their own dogs "have house rights here".

Very much in need of renovation but very friendly
Totally old sanitary facilities, those traveling with their own toilet can explore the area well. More for senior citizens with their own sanitary facilities in a caravan or motorhome. Rather the wrong choice for campers
