Beautiful lake with good pitches, nice leisure facilities, but unfortunately desolate conditions in terms of cleanliness. Yes, I know the site can't do anything for its guests, but in 2 sanitary buildings not a single soap dispenser... (all torn from the wall), obviously the toilets were not cleaned either. Toilets very dirty, partly unstable. There is garbage by the lake, in the center and at the playgrounds.
In addition, the campsite turned up the music in the outdoor bar in the center so loud that we had the feeling that a band was playing next to our caravan. And the stand at the other end of the lake. And that until 1 am at night. Pretty uncool as a family with 2 small children. There is certainly a target group for this campsite, but we are definitely not one of them.
So much more could be done with this location, the pitch and the conditions. Too bad. Unfortunately, we had to realize on arrival that really EVERYTHING on the site was closed.
The swimming pool was completely closed on Monday and Tuesday. On the other days only a few hours. Supermarket closed. Ice cream store closed, snack bar closed.... Restaurant closed, children's entertainment closed.
The children couldn't even buy an ice cream or a drink at the campsite.
We were once allowed to take a look inside a chalet at a neighbor's. These were put on display 40 years ago and never renovated again. Holes in the walls, broken chairs, mattresses uhhhaaaaa.
I wouldn't have stayed a single night in a chalet like that. We also left early again. This was by far the worst vacation park we've ever seen. From 8 p.m. in the evening it started with drinking and singing incl. music until about 2 a.m.! Vacationers could hardly sleep! Security only seen 1 x :-( Beer cans flew on the plot. Youth groups and loud pop music everywhere. Sometimes it feels like you're camping right in the outdoor pool during the summer holidays ;) If you're prepared and... can manage on little sleep, you can spend a few nice days here. Our 6-year-old son really liked it, we parents will book a quieter place next time. Another big advantage, which is why we stayed here: The campsite can also be booked for the exact day on long weekends. Unfortunately, this is rarely possible in the Netherlands.Automatisk oversatt.

But with restrictions, on arrival friendly welcome and when choosing the pitch at the playground because grandson with us we were told that it was restless by the cars well we thought. Wrong thought the whole day busy traffic of guest staff and tractor with big trailer... back and forth drove with some garbage and that still at 23 o'clock. To top it all off at excessive speed and past the playground!!!! (15 km / h) Pitches big enough only should have been mowed before, water sewage antenna connection and 10 ampere electricity. Wash houses clean and modern. Before Good Friday everything was only open to a limited extent. Saturday coaches arrived with youth groups and the peace and quiet was finally gone! Until late in the evening bawling youth who even skated in the washhouse, nobody knows what the surveillance cameras are for ??? Free running dogs from the permanent campers impossible and that next to the playground is not possible !!!! Who wants W-Lan has bad luck on this place there is no W -Lan not contemporary! The swimming pool so far ok but too small for the size. Otherwise children animation bowling alley chip shop restaurant small arcade and indoor arcade! The pitches are partly parceled (100m2) and have partly also different sizes (unparceled), dry ground even in continuous rain not softened.great big swimming lake with slides (guarded). Large indoor hall with reception indoor pool with slides, event hall with evening program partly also in German, suppermarket etc. The only thing to complain about is the toilet area: No squeegee for the floor in showers, the side walls go all the way down but you stand in the dirt of the pre-camper. The showers are preset to a good temperature, but you should turn them off when soaping up in order to have water at the end. Otherwise you have to wait about 1 minute until they come on again. Toilets are cleaned 2 or 3 times during the day and completely cleaned at night. Toilets have no anteroom but a washbasin is available, unfortunately no soap and no possibility to dry hands, I have seen and experienced this more often in NL, apparently this is the standard. We were always there for 3 or 4 nights outside the vacations, i.e. bridge days. The place was by no means overcrowded, sanitary was always TOP clean. The swimming pool is small, but quite sufficient... to let off steam a little. Pitches are about 100 -120 m². The view in 1 row directly on the lake is really nice. The staff is very friendly and German speaking. The only thing that is not so great is the restaurant. Beach was only cleaned when the majority of guests had already left; not once, however, during the almost full occupancy over Whitsun. For the indoor playground, (children up to 10 years) you have to pay 3 € entrance fee (why?) At night, the noise pollution from the nearby highway is clearly audible.the staff, and also the reception speaks hardly German. - Jop S.August 2010Unqualifiziertes Personal an der Rezeption. Es wird auf keinerlei Wuensche eingegangen. Es wird nicht Mal zugehoert. Man kann sagen was man will , es kommt nicht Mal eine Reaktion. fuer Kleinkinder lebensgefaehrlich. Das Personal verwechselt die schoene Wegen mit einer Autobahn. Restauration reichlich... vorhanden , man braucht aber viel Zeit. Es kann bis 30 Minuten dauern bis jemand eine Bestellung aufnimmt ( 1 Person fuer 100 Tische ) weitere 30 Minuten bis alles lieblos auf dem Tisch geklatscht wird. Sanitaer wird oefters gereinigt, aber einen Lappen fuer Boden, Klo und Waschbecken ist etwas wenig. Supermarkt macht erst um 8.30 Uhr auf , fuer einen Platz mit 10000 Gaeste etwas spaet. Gratis Minigolf, Tretbooten und Schwimmbad machen einiges wett, ( trotz kurze Oeffnungszeiten ) lassen offensichtliche Maengel jedoch nicht verschwinden.Automatisk oversatt.

- Günther B.June 2010The pitch itself was fine at first glance, but ultimately revealed glaring shortcomings. We had booked with two families and paid extra to get 2 mobile homes close together. Even though the pitch was still almost empty, we were not allocated mobile homes, despite repeated requests. Apropos mobile homes:... Very old (which is not bad in itself) and partly in catastrophic condition. There were several fist-sized holes in the walls and floor, as well as a makeshift shower that defied description. Small children should not be allowed to run around the site on their own, as the staff confuse the paved paths with a highway, especially when the site is not completely full. It's easy to speed between the mobile homes at around 50 km/h. The huge slides at the lake were only open on Saturday and Sunday for 5 hours each. During the rest of the time, the area is unfortunately not supervised, so that sometimes unbelievable scenes took place when small children climbed up the 10 meter high slides from the bottom the wrong way and at the same time other children came rushing down. When we pointed out to the staff what was going on, instead of a "thank you, we'll take care of it", they shrugged their shoulders and said "it's a problem for the parents". We've been here several times and will definitely be back. Only the reception is completely overwhelmed when the crowds arrive on... long weekends. Please note: Asten is not Venlo!
