Unfortunately, I was wrong. When I arrived, I was told that there was no space available in the zone I had booked! Allegedly not a mistake on the part of the campsite, but Valamar overbooks the zones so that the booked category may not be available. We also could not be told when a place in the booked zone would become available. So we had to switch to a pitch in another zone for one day. I realized that this was not an isolated case.
It should be possible for a company like Valamar to set up a sensible booking system that allows you to book specific pitches for a specific time.
