You get key to the gate, to reach the lake. Also late at night you can go swimming. This is a public bathing lake. Camping guests are given a key to the lake. It's a great lake with a playground and fantastic clear water. After 8 pm you have the lake almost to yourself. Because it closes at 8pm.
The sanitary facilities are clean.... There are group showers as well as cabins.
The place is run with a lot of love and you are warmly welcomed.
Conclusion: A nice little campsite with a lake. Simple meals.NegatívneNo store with the most important things. Permanent presence of relatively loud and smoking guests in the reception and terrace area. Night's rest from 10.00 pm is not observed (even by the groundskeeper).Simple campsite with lots of potentialIt is a simple campsite that is unfortunately getting on in years. The potential that the place has is unfortunately not used.
The entrance area looks very desolate and neglected and does not really welcome guests. Even the terrace, where simple meals can be offered and eaten, does not create a sense... of hospitality. Especially as there are smokers sitting right next door from lunchtime onwards who are also very fond of the hop drink from midday onwards.
With every bottle of beer, the discussions become louder and more unpleasant and even embarrassing. This noise can be heard all over the campsite until late in the evening.
For campers with children, this site is therefore not necessarily recommended.
The cigarette smoke, which everyone who wants to use the sanitary facilities has to pass through, wafts into the scullery and washrooms and is more than unpleasant.
The sanitary facilities are functional, adequate and very clean. There are no sanitary facilities for disabled campers!
The site is occupied by approx. 65% permanent campers.
On the whole, as a guest you get the impression that the owner enjoys chatting to the guests more than looking after the site. With a little effort and money, many things could be improved for the eye and give the camper a feeling of hospitality.

We were rewarded with a large pitch in the top row. A friendly operator tries to deal with all questions and requests as best he can. If you don't want to be in the middle of it all, you're in good hands here. The towns of Quedlinburg, Blankenburg, Wernigerode and Thale can be reached in half an hour. Hikes in the Upper Harz are also not far away. Halberstadt itself is also... worth a visit.
There is not much entertainment on the site itself, but there is always a campfire for children, where they can bake bread on sticks and grill sausages. The restaurant offers a small but adequate menu, the portions are large and it tastes delicious.
The boss is a cozy guy who actually comes to nothing as he says, but is always friendly and helpful. you feel comfortable here.
Only the sanitary building should be overhauled. The site is well suited for people who can keep themselves busy and don't need a 24-hour entertainment program. Lake right next to the site, shopping facilities in Halberstadt, electricity close to the site, extension leads... helpful, many permanent campers. The "Camping am See" campsite in Halberstadt is run with a great deal of commitment by the site owners. We were warmly welcomed and personally accompanied to our pitch, where everything was explained to us. We had a cable that was too short and we were immediately lent a cable. Top! Our pitch was very close to the lake and if it weren't for the bushes and trees, we would have had a view of the lake. We liked the pitch very much and although we had no hedge or other privacy protection next to our neighbor, we felt like we were "on our own". Unfortunately, there was a lot of pollen when we were there, but that's just the way it is in the countryside. The paths to the pitches are paved with concrete slabs, which makes noise when driving on them. The campsite can only be accessed with a chip that opens the barrier. There is a small kiosk and a bread roll service. A cozy outdoor terrace invites you to linger and is also run with heart and soul by the owner. There is a playground for younger guests and Lake Halberstadt, which can be accessed from the campsite via its own gate with a key, is definitely a destination for young and old. There are many permanent campers on the campsite and yet we didn't have the feeling of being "strangers" who weren't wanted. We liked the campsite very much, but we had to deduct points for the sanitary facilities. The toilets were clean, but we are not a fan of typical "rest area toilets", but for a short trip and if the toilets are otherwise clean, you can turn a blind eye here. Nevertheless, it would perhaps be nice if there was music playing in the toilet if the toilets are not closed from ceiling to floor. What we didn't like at all, however, were the showers. There were communal showers for the women and two individual shower cubicles, but you still had to undress in the communal room, which not everyone likes. Perhaps this can be adapted in the future? Otherwise, we really liked the campsite and the owner contributed a lot to this. Anyone staying at this campsite should definitely be aware that they are in East Germany and that the area should not be compared with West Germany.Automaticky preložené.

However, the summer drought has burnt away the greenery and so the first impression was a little dull, but the operator can't help that. The reservation was uncomplicated and quick. Friendly welcome and briefing on the site. Help with setting up the caravan from the groundsman. Bread roll service for breakfast was perfect. The sanitary facilities still have the... charm of the late 80s of the GDR but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Our son liked the communal showers and he thought it was great. The Harzcard is highly recommended! The site is located on a beautiful bathing lake. There are many possibilities for children. The food is good and from time to time there was... a movie in the evening. Bread roll service and the most necessary things are available on site. Plenty of excursion destinations nearby. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the pitches are large enough and easy to access. The car must be parked in a separate parking lot but on the camping site. This means less driving nuisance... on the site but slightly longer distances.
