Very nice operator, friendly welcome, very clean sanitary facilities.
The site has just under 35 pitches along the Wied-no mass tourism, but rather individual.
Very nicely situated, with a meadow in front of the pitches that can be used.
Very friendly reception, all pitch options were shown.
Clean, new sanitary facilities.
Very good hiking possibilities, we were given a hiking map.
It was quite hot at the weekend and we were able to cool off a bit in the Wied.
Bread was available at Rewe, right next door

Beautifully situated for a relaxing weekend
The reception at the campsite was very friendly. The operator is relaxed and doesn't have the old "groundskeeper image". A little information material for leisure activities is available at the reception. There is a large REWE supermarket in the immediate vicinity (100m) and the town center with bakery... (also on Sundays) is 350m away. The tenant also runs a small pub on the site itself. The site is beautifully situated on the river Wied. You can splash around in the Wied and relax on the large sunbathing lawn. The tourist pitches are located directly on the Wied on a large meadow (or one level higher if there is a risk of flooding). The site is characterized by predominantly "shacky" permanent camper pitches - sometimes nicely made, sometimes very run-down, sometimes even a little littered. The sanitary building is quite new and clean, but the places for washing dishes are too small and not really clean. All in all, we spent a lovely week here and would definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, there are still some ruins of permanent campers, for electricity and water supply you sometimes need long cables or longer distances
A lot has changed for the better!
A new wind is blowing with the new tenant couple, the freshly renovated sanitary building is clean and functional, although not yet completely rebuilt. The tenants are friendly and helpful, and dilapidated permanent campers' homes are apparently being removed step by step. The swimming pool on the site... is old, but is lovingly, cleanly and accurately run. The location of the unpaved pitches directly on the Wied can be described as idyllic without reservation. Two large grocery stores are just a 5-minute walk away, and fresh bread rolls are also available here on Sundays. There is also a small pub on site to quench your thirst. The price (€25 for 2 people, caravan, car and electricity) is no longer the bargain it used to be, but is ok thanks to the many improvements. If you want to relax, this is certainly the right place. After not having been to this site for several years due to the many shortcomings at the time, we will probably go back to the Wied, Strandbadweg campsite, from time to time in the future.

A run-down community campsite
On the way to the toilet block there is bulky waste, a shopping cart overflowing with glass bottles and tarpaulins with other garbage hidden underneath. For all this unsightliness with a dirty sanitary block, where all kinds of animals get in through permanently open doors, you also have to pay tourist... tax. I had to lay the power cable with 2 unrolled cable drums across the plot of a permanent camper and the road. An additional one-off connection fee is charged for this

We had landed here on our way home. After inspecting the site, we realized that "one night is enough". Power supply by cable across the road. No water supply (somewhere in the building). Sanitary facilities dirty, coin-operated showers. Toilets horribly dirty, toilet paper a matter of luck. Entrance... very narrow for large caravans. Permanent campers with hut character. Groundsman was friendly. The community that runs this place should think about what permanent campers have made of this beautifully situated place!

Never again!
We came to this campsite for a weekend but left after one night. The site must have been quite nice in the past, but that seems to have been a long time ago. Even if the location is quite nice, the condition of the sanitary facilities, the garbage cans filled to the brim on the pitch, the fact that there... was bulky waste lying around on our pitch, the partly desolate condition of the buildings and finally the unfriendly groundsman and the billing that none of our group could understand were absolutely unacceptable. We will never go there again.
