"Beautiful place - The site is very quiet and somewhat secluded on a lake. Beautiful pitches, very friendly and helpful couple who run the site. There are relatively many trees and therefore shady pitches. It is advisable to book in high season. Boats can also be hired.

"An absolute top place for anyone looking for peace and quiet. - Wonderful pitches around a small natural lake. Important: some pitches are beautiful but difficult to access. It is better to clarify in advance whether the caravan or camper van will fit. The lake has a fresh water inlet, is always clean and does not smell. A bit fresh but very nice for bathing and swimming. The wash house was super clean all the time and at all times of the day. Also great for those looking for peace and quiet and families without children. Friendliness is very important here, not only from the operators but also from the campers. Bread roll service on site and shopping facilities (approx. 5-6 km) easily accessible by car.

"Pure relaxation - We stayed at the campsite at the end of May/beginning of June and really enjoyed our time there. We were woken up in the morning by a bird concert, fresh bread was already waiting for us at reception and in the evening we could watch the sun set over the lake. A "living room" with board games, books and a children's play corner was also available to all campers, especially good on bad weather days. We liked it so much that we didn't even drive any further with our camper van.

"Ideal family camping - With Fenneke and Sjoerd, a friendly young Dutch couple who run the campsite, relaxation begins as soon as you check in. Sjoerd speaks fluent German, English, French and, of course, Dutch. There should be no communication problems. The reception building is located right next to a small lake. Here you will also find a cozy restaurant that offers small, reasonably priced dishes and of course drinks in the evening. There is also an inviting lounge in the same building, where you will want to spend time not only on rainy days, as it has a fireplace, sofa, tables and lots of games and books to borrow. The whole thing is crowned by a terrace directly overlooking the lakeshore, which is perfect for a candlelit dinner. Although the campsite itself is parceled out, it does not appear schematic or unnatural. The individual pitches are sheltered from the wind (hedges) and semi-shaded (trees) and are generally very level. The team at the site is very courteous and helpful. Bread roll service, free choice of pitch and excursion tips are not only listed on the homepage but are also offered in an uncomplicated manner. It is possible to rent mobile homes or, if you prefer something more exotic, huge safari tents. Whether you arrive with a caravan, camper van or tent, everything is possible. Every pitch has a water connection and electricity. The pitches directly on the lake have a special charm. However, if you want to get one of these, you have to make a reservation or come in the low season. Otherwise, there is a nice playground for children, kayak hire and the opportunity to swim in the lake on a specially created sandy beach, where you can also light a campfire. With the prospect of catching lake trout, anglers are sure to find a nice spot on the not-too-large lake (approx. 500 x 80 m). Nevertheless, there is no stress between the different interests - live and let live, as is so often the case in France. The cleanliness and practicality of the other facilities (showers, sinks, toilets, washing machine, WiFi etc.) is above average and is often unparalleled on other campsites. This is also underpinned by the fact that there are no annoying additional costs or trips, as both hot showers and toilet paper are simply included. Nevertheless, it is not one of the animation super resort campsites that emulate the vacation resorts on the Mediterranean, but really still a place that offers camping close to nature in its most beautiful form with additional comfort. Highly recommended for families who want to try out camping and for people who are in urgent need of relaxation and want to enjoy a short vacation without much preparation. As a family with two small children, we felt very comfortable in our tent and would go again any time.

"Great place under Dutch management. - We received a very friendly welcome. The site is very clean and the pitches are big enough. We were there with 2 German Shepherds and had no problems. Unfortunately we were only there for a week. Next year it will be 2 weeks. The price/performance ratio is great.

Profil

The Domaine des Messires campsite is located in the Vosges National Park, in an idyllic setting in the middle of nature. The area is known for its wide panoramas and extensive forests. This makes the region ideal for hikers and …cyclists. On the way to the campsite, you will pass green fields and a few small villages. The capital of the department, Épinal, is only half an hour's drive from the campsite. It is one of the many places in the region that offers beautiful attractions and a rich history. Guests enter the spacious and atmospheric campsite through a stately gate. The campsite is located around a large part of the clear lake. The lake is easily accessible via a sandy beach and if you bring your own boat, you can set off from the shore. You may even come across the beavers that live on the campsite. There are five canoes available at the campsite that guests can use free of charge. There is also plenty for anglers to do here. For walkers, there are various hiking trails and a route that goes all the way around the lake. If you like mountain biking, you can rent one at the campsite. One of the great advantages of the Domaine des Messires campsite is that many pitches are right on the water's edge. There are also pitches around the small playground and close to the other facilities. Those seeking peace and quiet can opt for a pitch on the edge of the campsite, from where you still have a magnificent view of the lake.
