There's plenty on offer for children (games and sports).
Restaurants were OK. We didn't really like the mini market, but in Holland we prefer to go to the local supermarkets anyway to stock up on our favorite... specialties (blah, hail, etc.).
The beach can only be reached by bike (approx. 4.5 km through the dunes) and is typically Dutch: endlessly wide and with a pavilion for ice cream and chips.
There are a lot of families here in high season and you have to be prepared for life to start between 7 and 8 am. But that's okay.
The sanitary facilities were good and mostly clean - just doesn't work 100% in high season; absolutely ok for us.
Overall, we felt completely at ease and will definitely be back! Silvia K.July 2022Pozitívne- In the middle of nature - Small supermarket - Everything accessible by bike (you don't really need a car here) - Children's entertainment program (in Dutch) - Many playgrounds - Great pitches (not so chessboard-like) - easy connection by train to Alkmaar, Amsterdam, Haarlem, Utrecht - the beach section is not accessible by car, therefore not so crowded even in high summer. - beautiful dune area - mostly clean sanitary facilities (in high season it can be slightly dirty, cleaning staff can be seen several times a day)Negatívne- No direct water connection at the pitch - No waste water on site - Restaurant Vos Food is not what the price suggests - Odor in the dishwashing areaAlways worth a trip - especially with childrenWe have been going here for years and a lot has changed. The WIFI has improved considerably and the cell phone reception is also good enough. The playgrounds are great and my children always make friends. There is plenty of water and the waste water has to be disposed of differently, but this is due to the nature reserve and I think that's ok!Automaticky preložené.

Families, campers with dogs or fans of all-round provision with waste and fresh water. The beach is a little further away, but easy to reach by bike.

There are plots, so very large pitches. You can go on great bike rides and the beach is not far away. The sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired, in the showers you can see black... mold in all the joints. A soap dispenser was broken for 4 days and none of the staff noticed. The supermarket is under new management, the bread rolls you can buy there for a lot of money are bone dry. In the burger store we were served by a young man who both cashed in and then touched the burger slices with his bare hands, which wasn't great from a hygiene point of view.Automaticky preložené.

Two tents, one pavilion, four adults, three children. Cars were parked on our pitch. There is no midday rest so that entry and exit is possible at any time and there is therefore also traffic on the site, especially in the front area directly at the playground.... Our pitch was generously sized. The campsite is very close to nature and naturally designed, there is a small store, a snack bar and a restaurant. Reception mostly speaks German, but sometimes English was better. I would particularly like to highlight the doctor's surgery on the campsite. Every day there is a half-hour consultation with a very nice doctor. The beach is about 4 km away, which is too much for younger and less experienced children to walk. Bicycles can be hired on site if you are quick! Children's bikes cost €7 a day, but unfortunately there were none left for us. We tried the beaches in Egmond and Castricum, both about a 15-minute drive away and we liked them both. Wonderful playgrounds on the campsite and entertainment but unfortunately only in Dutch. We had pitch 55 and there were lots of families with lots of children around us, so there was less peace and quiet during the day, but in the evening from 22.00 at the latest there was heavenly peace and quiet. So, the only but also frightening shortcoming are the sanitary facilities! Four shower cubicles for our area, which is unfortunately far too few for so many families. The showers were sooo dirty, there were heaps of hair in all four corners, which the shower drains couldn't cope with at all. Which is no wonder, as the jet is a joke. Nothing at all reaches the children downstairs and washing out hair is a drama. According to my observations, the sanitary facilities were only cleaned once a day, at lunchtime. Who showers at lunchtime? So whether you wanted to shower in the morning or in the evening, it was always dirty! The toilets now have paper in the cubicles, if there was any, and there are also soap dispensers. The toilets were also often very dirty and the family bathrooms, two of them, were always occupied. I have seen much nicer family bathrooms. Free internet only in the reception area, otherwise the reception was poor. I would wish for free Wi-Fi on the campsite these days. The campsite is located in the dune area and the surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling,Automaticky preložené.- Daniela H.August 2014PozitívneAn ingenious cycle path network!!!!NegatívneVery expensive for the offerAmbivalentWe only spent two nights on the site as it was a spontaneous vacation. If you love nature and want to be on your own, you have definitely won here, because the site is very spacious, but you have to wonder about the sanitary facilities. There is no toilet paper in the cabins, only in front of the entrance,... and since you are not informed of this at reception or by signs, the first squat on the toilet can be rather unpleasant, and there are no soap dispensers for washing your hands afterwards. A no-go!!! There is no hairdryer in the showers, which are very sparse in number, and too little storage space. We did not see any separate cooking facilities. The price including tourist tax and dune pass is hefty. We had the "bad luck" to be there on our last day (01.09.).low season!!! When we came back from a 60 km bike tour at 7 pm, the supermarket and restaurant on the site were already closed.and it was also difficult to find something in Catstricum.conclusion:For the price and the alleged 4 stars from the ADAC we expect much more, especially in terms of cleanliness and equipment of the sanitary facilities.for families with children certainly a successful place.Automaticky preložené.

The campsite is beautifully situated in the middle of nature, very clean and there are family showers that are simply huge and great. at first we were slightly irritated because the site is located in the flight path of Amsterdam airport,... but you actually hear almost nothing of the busy air traffic. the way to the beach is ingenious and really easy to do. the beach itself is just great, especially for smaller children.On the site there is a great animation unfortunately only in Dutch but our children let themselves be carried away after initial reluctance.excursion destinations such as Alkmar Amsterdam or Schorrl are within easy reach.it is also very nice that the cars have to be parked in a parking lot in front of the campsite so there is only arrival and departure traffic.the only minus point was that our pitch was very tight for 7.5 m caravans so maybe inquire beforehand which pitch is suitable for large caravans there is enough choice.Automaticky preložené.

Also on the square is a big playground. nice that the animation focuses on the forest and nature in the area! Of course, thanks to the nice weather we were able to spend some time on the beach. - Maja J.July 2010We found the site very nice because it is divided into different areas (dog owners, pitches around a playground for families, motorhomes, quieter areas with hammocks). There is not the usual chessboard-like grid where every pitch looks and is the same. The pitch is integrated into the dunes and not rammed... into the ground. We had a pitch by the playground, which was fantastic for us and our two children (aged 2 and 7). Cars are not allowed to park or drive in this area, so we didn't have to watch out for them either. The entertainment was unfortunately only in Dutch, but both children quickly made friends with Dutch children. The location in the dune nature reserve is great. You can make wonderful excursions by bike. On foot, however, it's a tough walk. But the Dutch are always surprised when tourists are on foot anyway. The sanitary facilities are good and clean. Overall, we can highly recommend the campsite.Automaticky preložené.
