- Philipp P.August 2013You just happened to pass by...... but certainly not purposefully, because there is no real reason for tourist campers to head straight for the "Les deux Vallées" site. It is located somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Nant in the deepest Aveyron near the A75, the toll-free north-south connection to the French Mediterranean coast.... It is probably not an option for those passing through, as it is only a short distance from the south coast; in terms of location and facilities, there is also nothing to suggest spending the night here. I came across the site by chance, as I was traveling on from the Rhône-Alpes / Cote-d'Azur region to the Massif Central and my day's stage ended here by chance. The tour, mainly via the Route Départementale D999, offers a few hours of extremely interesting impressions of the southern French landscape near the Mediterranean, but inland. The proximity of the site to the A75 is an advantage, Nant itself is just a small mountain village that has the most necessary infrastructure of stores, but also has nothing worth mentioning culturally. Groups of cyclists like to meet on the site, but they are (inevitably) semi-professionals and not leisure/holiday cyclists - after all, we are in the Aveyron, where the going is very steep up and down. The site itself has a small swimming pool, which is enough to cool off in the evening and swim a few lengths; most of the pitches are semi-shaded to shaded by trees, but there are pre-booked French people and mobile homes. There are a few pitches on the right-hand side for transients and short-term tourists, but these are sunny to very sunny and offer hardly any shade. A big problem are the flies, which are harmless but extremely annoying due to their enormous numbers. Twenty flies in the caravan are normal here during the day, many of which I then released 50 kilometers further on at the rest area at the Viaduc de Millau by opening all the windows and hatches for half an hour - that would have been completely pointless on site. The campsite's sanitary facilities are decent and clean and recent - see also the photos from 2013. The staff are friendly and courteous and are happy to welcome something as unusual as a German camper. Anything that was not immediately understood in French was immediately signaled by jumping into English to show that they wanted to be open and communicative. There is the option of pre-ordering bread for the following day, which is delicious and reasonably priced, as is the pricing. The site is quiet and peaceful at night, it's a really good place to relax. Whatever your reason for coming to this campsite, you are made to feel welcome and at home, and before spending the night you can take a stroll through Nant, have a swim and a barbecue and then continue your journey the next morning - but that's it for the possibilities here. If I were to come back to the area, I would certainly visit the campsite again.Automaticky preložené.
