However, the Kneipp treatment with cold water has never done any harm.Campsite to relax and unwindThis is still an "old-style" campsite. Father and daughter put their heart and soul into it. You weren't limited to the time you requested, and if possible you could simply extend or shorten your stay.
Unfortunately, Lake Ossiach is not easily accessible for swimming, so it was really nice to just jump... into the water from the campsite. The dog wasn't allowed to run around on the beach, but he could go into the water on a lead or onto the SUP, as we did. Dogs are welcome and it didn't cost anything extra. This is really rare in this day and age. You can also go for a walk from the campsite, bags and garbage cans are provided along the way.
The baker comes every day from 7.30 am to 8.00 am and has delicious things.
There are several walks directly from the campsite or they are easily accessible by bike or car. The monkey mountain and the bunker museum are highly recommended. One week was definitely not enough to do all the things we actually wanted to do.
You can also get to Spar quickly by bike (approx. 7 minutes) on the cycle path or to Billa shortly afterwards.

This makes it easy for us to say yes we will come here again, despite the points we have listed here under disadvantages. Overall, we felt very comfortable... and the place exuded a certain sense of relaxation. This began on arrival when our daughter personally showed us several pitches and also mentioned the advantages and disadvantages of each pitch. Our very nice neighbors (permanent campers) probably also contributed to this. Due to the small size of the site, the distances are not too far, whether to the lake, the sanitary building, the "cafe" or the waste disposal. The beach with bathing jetty is not overly large but we found it sufficient. The proximity to the railroad line and the main road didn't bother us too much, the "noise" was bearable. On the pitch itself, at least in our "listening area" (to the west of the sanitary building), it was pleasantly quiet at all times of the day and night. The site is manageable, with its own beach and jetty. In the immediate vicinity is a small playground with swings, table tennis etc.
The sanitary facilities are very clean and well maintained... and if something wasn't quite right, "Papa" was there to take care of it.
In the morning there is a bakery van in the parking lot to provide guests with bread rolls, bread, etc.
Catering is replaced by a small snack bar. There are drinks, ice cream and pizza served on a lovely terrace.
Shopping facilities can be reached by car or bicycle within a short distance.
Fantastic landscapes complete the picture. Excellent as a base camp for visiting Lake Ossiach, Lake Faak, Lake Wörth, Gerlitzen, Landskron Castle, etc.

I can't explain the very good reviews and don't share them. The operator is typically business-like "nice", you spend half the day running after him if you need or want to know something, there is no office, he has converted a table in the restaurant, but walks around... somewhere all day. The employee we met had no idea about anything, so we were constantly chasing after the operator. The site is dominated by permanent campers. The road AND the railroad line border directly on the site and it is very, very noisy as a result. At night, until six in the morning, it is a little quieter. The sanitary facilities are dated but clean. The shower coins have to be inserted outside the cubicle, at the other end of the room. A no-go. Toilets are dark. There is a restaurant on site, but we didn't try it. There is little to no room to run around with a dog. Everything around the site is fenced in and has prohibition signs. The whole campsite is very informal and the people are friendly throughout. But the service provided by the manager is outstanding. Pitches are shown by the operator, help is given with setting up, pitches are put in the water... with the Richtscheid, all-round service without being intrusive. Connection cable too short? No problem, I'll bring you one of my drums. And if you go to the toilet late at night, the boss will meet you again - with gloves and cleaning cloths. The sanitary facilities are incredibly clean, just a little lacking in flushing facilities, but if you get involved in the Carinthian coziness - that's no problem either. Only the railroad line and the main road, which run close to the campsite, detract from the rating.Automaticky preložené.

The site is very clean. The bathing area is not large, but nicely designed (jetty, bay). We had a pitch in the middle of the upper part. There is no shade there. This meant that our tent was exposed to the sun from morning to evening. It was unbearable in and in front... of the tent (daytime temperatures of around 35 degrees in the shade). So the only option was the shade on the beach. But it's not very big either. Breakfast rolls are available on site from 07.30 am. The nearest supermarket is in the next village. Easy to reach by bike or car. You need shower tokens to shower - 50 cents for three minutes of hot water. Some electricity connections are a long way from the pitch, but cable reels can be borrowed free of charge. Pitches are very level, so also suitable for tents. Snacks (sausages, goulash soup, ice cream treats, etc.) can be purchased on site. There is no groundsman at night, so it can get noisy. A railroad line and the Seestraße pass right next to the campsite. This causes noise pollution in the rear area. This is particularly noticeable at night. The sanitary facilities are very clean and partly newly renovated. However, they still exude the charm of the 70s. No waiting times at the toilets and showers, even when the campsite is full. There are only short waiting times when washing up. The price/performance ratio is definitely right on this site. A small playground and table tennis tables are available. Dogs are allowed, but not in the water! There is supposedly a dog beach in the next village (Bodensdorf). We were not disappointed, the CP was great for us, short distance to the lake, shopping facilities within cycling distance, and a super beautiful environment. We don't need any... entertainment, our three children never get bored, so everything was perfect. The Morgenfurts are just great, very accommodating and helpful in all matters. We had water in the awning after a persistent rain shower (pushed up from the ground), Mr. Morgenfurt helped us to spread gravel in the awning and the vacation could continue. When the weather got better and more summery, we really enjoyed swimming in the lake and the children were also able to play there. Thanks to the Kärnten Card, we were also able to explore the surrounding area very well. Carinthia is amazing... A big compliment to the operators Magdalena and Paul Morgenfurt. You do a great job. And still complains about it, boss "but runs around somewhere all day". And doesn't have an office. Mr. Pauli certainly doesn't run around to keep... the grass short. And prefers to drive a Ferrari instead of having an office. Prohibition signs, well, that's probably down to the innocent dogs, whose masters and mistresses would prefer to have the dog toilet behind the mobile. After all, where is there more space for dogs to have fun than in the countryside? The train is loud, yes. 2.5 minutes. I know what time it is and it's cool for kids anyway, counting wagons, etc. And as a traveler passing through, "dominated by permanent campers" shows one thing very clearly. The difference between campers who stay because it's nice and people who at stopover no. 8..9 expect their 2 chairs 1 table to be in a 100% painted backdrop. And the boss has to have an office. Please, fortunately there are differences, even among Womobi campers. It's not all perfect, but that's camping for me. It's a great place for children, and it was the best weeks for us. Familiar. No dust-dry grass, exciting surroundings to explore. The view, an evening sitting by the footbridge. Forever beautiful memories. Sebastian J.August 2013Very recommendable, small and familiar place on the southern shore of the lake. I can only agree with the previous comments! Super-friendly campsite operator who goes out of his way to make sure his guests are happy - highly commendable. The site itself is beautifully situated on the lake and has a gravel... bathing area, along with a small sunbathing lawn and bathing jetty. (the water quality is absolutely great!) The pitches are level and partly shady, the ground is paved - certainly very pleasant for guests with tents. Although the sanitary facilities are older, they are well maintained and absolutely clean - top! However, it is difficult to say whether there is enough capacity in the high season, as there were only a few places left when we visited. There is a small buffet where you can buy snacks and drinks - the price-performance ratio is good. The facilities are well-kept and very clean, the Morgenfurts are always friendly, as is the staff. The campsite has a family, child-friendly atmosphere.
