Beautifully situated, very well-kept place
We paid 61 euros per night for a family of 5 with 2 tents - including electricity, shower/hot water for washing up and visitor's tax.

Quiet: The quiet times at night and at midday were always observed - even though the site was very busy (2 weeks during the summer vacations). Unfortunately, you can... hear the nearby highway when the wind is unfavorable - the proximity is an advantage for the journey, but unfortunately not for the one or other cozy evening.

Site condition: The sanitary facilities are very well thought out, available in sufficient numbers (even at "peak times" when washing up ;-)) and are cleaned regularly and meticulously. The team on site cannot be held responsible for the lack of civilization of individual guests...
The paths are definitely rustic in one place or another, but that's okay: we're talking about NATURE camping here, right? And the fact that the paths are not smoothed out like a highway perhaps does prevent some guests from speeding through to their own pitch. So it fits.

Staff: The staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant could have been open more often, but that is probably also a sign of a lack of manpower (like everywhere else...).

Lake: The bathing area is perfect for young and old. The lake is quite shallow at this point over long stretches of shoreline and can therefore be used for nice SUP trips (little boat traffic).

Reception: The only real drawback is the lousy cell phone reception coupled with the lack of WiFi. We don't need long online sessions on vacation, but it would be nice to have a weather or map app or to be able to google the next destination. Of course, the site operator can only do so much about this, but it did spoil our mood from time to time.

Conclusion: We would love to come back. We can't really understand the reviews we've read here.

High price for low performance
We paid 47 euros per night for 2 adults with a caravan. There was also an extra charge for the shower (billed every second) and the hot water for washing up !!! also cost something.
There is no WLAN on the entire site, only directly in front of the reception, right at the entrance (very cozy).
There... is a small store, but it was closed due to illness.
A restaurant on the site is only open for 4 hours on 2 days, but not at weekends. And without a reservation it was difficult to get something to eat, although only 4 tables were occupied.
In addition, the chemical toilet disposal was broken, probably for some time.

Our conclusion: high price for little service

Disturbing the peace is free at home
When you think of "nature" camping, you think of peace and relaxation, not of mowing the lawn at quiet time, once you've got through that you can "look forward" to the DJ in the evening. The noise stops at 10 pm, but we still left immediately "under protest".
The condition of the sanitary facilities... otherwise described here remained unknown.
Naturcamping Malchow? NEVER again!

The site is beautiful and large, we had our XL tent to ourselves. There was a nice playground for children.

The access road was a challenge, please drive slowly and pay attention to the bumpy road. The staff were sometimes very friendly and sometimes very unfriendly and didn't try to hide the fact that they didn't want to work. The sanitary facilities are modern and stylish, but everything is far too cramped and very, very, very dirty. Especially in the showers you can see that there is months of dirt and black mold everywhere. If you are unlucky and are at the very back of the site, you have a very long way to the toilet. Many campers are therefore on their bikes and are very inconsiderate... Watch out for your children, otherwise they will quickly get knocked over. The bathing area is quite narrow for the size of the camp and there are rotten apples lying around everywhere. In general, the grounds are in a very unkempt state. And it often smells unpleasantly of faeces. The worst thing for us was that the site rules were not adhered to. It was loud late into the night. Conclusion: If you fancy a vacation where you can just bum around all day (with a swim in the lake) and have a drink in the evening, you will find many like-minded people there. But it is definitely not recommended as a family vacation: noisy and dirty.
Once is enough.
We have already visited several campsites, and this was the first one that we will definitely not visit again.

First of all, thank you for your message. There are cards available in the registration area to share your comments. The silicone in the wet areas is replaced every year. Our house cleaning team is also on duty at least twice a day, and the last cleaning logs are displayed in the buildings... for guests' information. Everything that contributes to soiling in the meantime is largely attributable to disregarding the house rules (using flip-flops, wiping feet when entering the house, using toilet brushes, etc.). Our staff make every effort to enforce the site rules, but unfortunately they sometimes encounter ignorance on the part of guests. We would be very happy to have the opportunity for a personal conversation during your next stay! Otherwise, we are only sad to read about your not relaxing vacation with us.

Access to the lake only at the bathing area, otherwise no lake view possible outside of the small bathing area. Shower rooms and toilets were extremely!!! dirty, we have never seen them in such a bad condition anywhere else. There was water floating on the floor in the shower rooms for the entire duration of our stay. Most of the pitches are shady, anyone looking for a bright spot here will be 90% disappointed. As soon as it rains there is water all over the site, deep puddles as far as the eye can see, you can't get very far here without wellies. The access to the campsite is adventurous, nothing stays in its place in the caravan, we have never had such bumpy terrain before. There is no night-time peace and quiet here, although this is indicated, but from 7 pm there is no groundsman or anything like that. The environment is correspondingly loud when no one is checking. A lack of control and contact persons is a recurring theme. Pitches are poorly laid out, many pitches were almost 10 in the water when it rained, including awnings. Who gave 4 stars here is a mystery to us, for us it would be 1 star, we definitely won't be back

Our site has about 50 pitches with lake view which are of course booked out relatively quickly and are therefore not often available for spontaneous travelers during the summer vacations. During your stay, we were also affected by the thunderstorms - 30 liters of precipitation on the... soil, which had been depleted by the previous months of drought, unfortunately cannot be absorbed by it in such a short time. Our site offers a good mix of light on the pitches. Whether semi-shady, shady or sunny - the pitches are naturally in different demand depending on the weather and we are particularly proud of our old trees. Some oaks have been lining the site for hundreds of years and will hopefully continue to do so after our use!

Dogs are really welcome. Usable and clean dog beach. This was not the case in 2016. Sanitary facilities are really clean. Great restaurant.

Tank for cemie toilets overflowed, shouldn't happen! One or two more "dog toilets" wouldn't hurt. Kiosk a bit small but with the essentials on offer.
Great place for campers with children and/or dogs
This is the second time we have stayed on this pitch. You can be unlucky and be allocated a pitch where the path to the sanitary building is a bit long, but that wasn't the case for us. The beach for the dogs was clean and well frequented this time. We also launched our rubber dinghy there. Unfortunately,... we could only find one "dog toilet" on the site. There was also none to be found on the great natural cycle paths outside the campsite, which would be the job of the tourist office.
The restaurant on site is definitely worth a mention. The menu is straightforward, the prices are reasonable, but when you eat so much and so well and are served in such a friendly manner, then the price is okay.
The cycle paths through the forest along the lake are not suitable for mini bikes. I really enjoyed them on my e-bike.
Maybe we'll come back again.

Location by the lake, beautifully and naturally situated in the forest

Only one sanitary building / washing-up facilities for the entire site (far too few, also extremely long distances if you have a place in the rear area), playground and restaurant directly at the sanitary building, there was then constantly toilet smell, terrible!!!! Restaurant on the pitch closed every Monday and Tuesday in high season - not very customer-oriented! Constantly having to carry your card, even to wash up, is very annoying. The penalty fee for losing the card is probably a nice sideline for the campsite, as you forget it very quickly on the counter for washing up.
Big disappointment
Unfortunately the campsite was a big disappointment for us, there are many better campsites in the area. We will not be coming back....

A disappointment
We were allocated a pitch right next to the wash house (clothes, dishes), which turned out to be very bad. It smelled unpleasantly of sewage, it was noisy late into the night and the bright light shone directly into our tent from the windows. We were woken up again at 3am by the noise of the cleaning service. The response to our complaints the next day was not very customer friendly. We will certainly not be back.

Sanitary dirty, a stench every day that almost makes you puke. Chemical toilet emptying stinks like a pig depending on the wind direction comes a shit gush. Rental properties dirty without end. Some people have a view of the garbage cans that stand around freely. Washing up etc. costs money. Never again

- Site plan is misleading, as a large part of the site is surrounded by dense forest - Lively vehicle traffic... Constant coming and going. - Partly very unkempt site - Pitches in the immediate vicinity of the sanitary buildings smell of cesspools several times a day - The disposal station for the chemical toilet is chargeable and absolutely disgusting - Gastronomic facilities could be improved... They were always helpful. - It gave the impression that they were not prepared for the start of the season.
Once and never again
We went to this campsite because of the four stars and the good reviews.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and left after a week, annoyed.

Actually a nice campsite
There is a lot of vehicle traffic on the campsite throughout the day and unfortunately people drive too fast there. There are a lot of short-term campers who stay for one or two days. As short-term campers are unfortunately not accommodated in the entrance area of the campsite, the volume of traffic... on the campsite increases considerably. There is no midday rest. This is much better regulated on other sites. Either they are placed in specially designated areas at the entrance or a stay of less than 3 days is generally not accepted. Of course, the heavy traffic also means that the peace and quiet is unfortunately over. Due to Covid 19, the conditions on the campsites are also special this year. Some operators have reacted very quickly and adapted to this. Unfortunately, this is not the case here.
Our booked pitch was confirmed to us in writing. Unfortunately, it was occupied. An alternative offered to us also turned out to be occupied after a visit. Unfortunately, finding a pitch was a bit chaotic. Nevertheless, we found a pitch that was ok.
There are a few sunny pitches, mostly on grass. From the middle of the site, it's quite a long way to the only sanitary building. The campsite was full to capacity. The sanitary facilities were clearly too small and one cleaning a day was not enough. There was also sometimes a queue of up to 7 people at the dishwashing house.
The restaurant, which serves simple snacks, was unfortunately completely closed. Unfortunately there was no indication of this on the website. There is a shop with everything you need.
The nearby highway is clearly audible when there is no wind. Depending on the strength of the westerly wind, it is much quieter to not audible.
Like all the neighboring lakes, the Plauer-See has a low water level of about 100 cm below normal due to the two dry summers. This means that swimming is not really possible.

Beautiful place, wonderful location but...
The location is wonderful, the staff friendly and helpful, the sanitary facilities clean. Unfortunately, there was no soap in the sanitary facilities during our stay.
The ground is grass and the large trees provide plenty of shade. While the pitches for permanent campers are very spacious, there are... relatively small areas for vacation guests.
There is a lot of traffic on the paths. Cars, bicycles, e-scooters, hoover boards and the like are constantly on the move and make for a hectic pace. It's also a shame that there are no public transport connections. The nearest town, Malchow, is around 6 km away.

There was a lot of traffic in the area in front of the site, making it very restless.

Our vacation was planned as a fishing vacation as well as a houseboat rental. Unfortunately, neither was possible due to low water. As a disabled person, I was also unable to hire a rowing boat as the distance was too far and the associated transportation of the fishing equipment to the landing stage... was not feasible for me. The boats were in poor condition and leaking! There was no prior information about these conditions, especially the low water! Where was the dog area?

Ideal for families with children
Due to its location, this site is ideal for families with small children. They can play and run around in the shallow water. You have to walk a long way (several hundred meters) into the deeper water to swim. Lake Plau is also ideal for paddling. However, you have to go to Malchow for shopping (12x0.5... liters of mineral water incl. deposit in the store at the campsite for over €20!!!) and the "restaurant" on site is quite expensive (0.5 l beer €4.20) and has a very limited selection. But that's not why you go there. Annoying, but probably through no fault of our own, is the almost non-existent internet connection. The cell phone connection is also extremely poor, often non-existent. Even at reception, the "free WLAN" is often simply gone. However, the staff are very friendly and the people on site are very honest (2x card lost, 1x watch left behind; everything was handed in!). Everything is also very clean, it has to be said.

Thanks to the nice weather, the water in our lake district is about 70cm below the normal level. The advantage is that there is a wide sandy beach which unfortunately is not mentioned ^^
