It says on the sign that a refurbishment was decided in 2023. But nothing has happened. Unfortunately! You should use times that don't clash with breakfast, lunch or dinner to wash up. As the seats are super close together, it was really borderline when someone was washing up to the right and left of you.Visit inspired by DMAXThe pitch at the lighthouse made it possible for us to explore the lake by canoe and SUP directly from our pitch. Keep up the good work. 👍Automaticky preložené. - Thomas W.April 2024Pozitívnenothing that the places next door couldn't do betterNegatívneLoud, unkempt, constant construction noise, old and unkempt sanitary facilities, even the new construction site toilet containers can't save anything, narrow pitches, overpriced, the speeding groundsmen on their electric vehicles are a constant danger for children,Was once a real natural placeWe first stayed at the site in 1996 and then several times for smaller vacations. Back then it was still a real nature campsite with lots of forest and nature, a real paradise for children. Unfortunately, not much has remained of that. I've just compared the satellite images on Google Earth from 2000... and 2021 and the difference is shocking. The entrance area to the site is more like an unkempt industrial area where houseboats are being assembled, only a small beach is accessible from the entire coast and you can hardly find a quiet spot by the water. The pitches are all very narrow and dusty, distance to the neighbors is not really possible, you can also see if you want to reserve on the website. There is also a constant danger for small children, as the people in charge are not exactly slow with their vehicles. The question also arises as to why the construction work on the pier is not being continued in the winter months, but in the season when everyone wants to have their peace and quiet.
The site is also not recommended for people with severe walking difficulties and wheelchair users, as it is too sandy and only the public road to the Lachmann shipyard is paved.
Those with small children should also avoid the site. There is no children's pool or similar facilities.
Critical comments or tips are now deleted on facebook or otherwise blocked.

It started at check-in. There it said...you can NOT go to your booked place (lighthouse),
We were given a pitch in the south bay. (Service water approx. 50 m away, electricity... see... for yourself which socket is connected.
Briefing....naja.
The toilets/showers were only cleaned every two days.
The washing facilities for dishes were locked.
Toilet paper was only available again on request.
Building site, building site, building site....but no discount on the price.
Unfortunately, there is no financial difference between low and high season.
We have never thought about canceling our vacation before when camping.... it almost happened in Himmelreich.

Instead, we were offered a comparable pitch at the same price. We were right on the water, but also in the middle of a building site. We were told to get bread rolls in Geltow, as the restaurant on the site was not yet open. The wash house wasn't open yet either. It wasn't possible to wash the dishes yet either. It wouldn't have been so bad if you had read somewhere that the season starts then and then. It is absolutely not right that you pay the full price when half of the offers are missing. Many permanent campers and too many dogs. Bread rolls have to be ordered in advancePremium price without premium servicethe expensive premium pitches at the lighthouse are small and you have to stand diagonally so that you can hardly - or not at all - see the lake from inside. What doesn't work at all is the permission for 8m campers to use the pitches anyway, to stand parallel to the shore and thus protrude onto the... neighboring pitches and take away the view from other campers. If you decide to pay premium prices (€60 in mid-September without tourist tax) for the most beautiful pitches, then the offer must be appropriate. The sanitary building is dingy, the showers don't drain. The restaurant is more of a sham than a fine place, €20 for a hamburger with fries, oh well.
We felt we were the only guests without a dog, the neighboring pitch (10) was soiled with dog excrement.
The atmosphere at the lake, especially in the morning and evening, is a dream, but only in the Himmelreich? We wanted to see for ourselves. A lot is invested in maintenance. Instead of buying a new boat, the 6-figure sum would have been better spent on night lighting and a decent power supply. The site is very dark at night and you can't find your way to the toilet without a flashlight.... We had a pitch right on the lakeshore for €74. Wonderful... 20m away, there was a loose 230V CEE plug in the grass for the shore power. There are practically no fused power columns. That's not possible!!! There are loose power cables lying on the ground all over the site. The site could also be cleaned of leaves, branches and acorns. The restaurant can be praised for its cuisine. Good price/performance!!! In our case we waited 1 hour for food. (can happen). My conclusion is... There is still a lot to do to achieve the image that was shown in the TV documentary.
This is not meant to be a rebuke, but rather my impression as a longtime camper guest. I expected more.

Food was fresh and tasty . Price is reasonable .
Steak could be offered in 2 weight classes, would be great.

We were given a very warm welcome and everything was explained to us in detail straight away. Even when we had questions in between,
they were always explained in a friendly and precise manner. We thought that everyone was just like in... the program. Cool and friendly.
The briefing went really well. We were also able to change seats spontaneously as our seat didn't have a good view and was very narrow. Toilets were always clean and tidy. We didn't shower in the wash house, we did that comfortably in the motorhome.
It's nice and quiet at night, so rest was guaranteed.
The food in the restaurant was very tasty, very friendly service.

Prices are being charged in every area that are disproportionate to the services provided. The "restaurant" charges a hefty €46 for two burgers (including a small salad) and a Coke and has the level and ambience of a better chip shop. The children's... playground is a hodgepodge of leftover equipment that was carelessly put together wherever there was space. The sanitary facilities have already been sufficiently described in other reviews, so if you don't want to be put off, you should experience this for yourself. The rest of the cleanliness of the place also has an adventurous character, some places have the charm of a garbage dump. Keeping to your own rules, e.g. volume on the pitch and driving speed (especially of the staff) is a matter of luck and you have less luck in the "Kingdom of Heaven", here is more Road to Hell.
We let ourselves be dazzled by the TV production... We left three days earlier. Better to stay away from the so-called kingdom of heaven. The restaurant was also great ... staff very nice and always a smile for the guests... .
All in all ...recommendable, the place has a great charm. We are looking forward to the pier, it will certainly be mega nice.
Keep it up, because that's how we imagine a carefree camping vacation

We had a pitch right on the water by the lighthouse. The wash house is old and run down but was always clean. The restaurant on site is good but not very cheap. There is a bread roll service you just have to order the day before. The area by the old... movie theater is a junkyard for everything that is no longer needed or will be used later. Not a very nice sight. The new four shower containers were all locked. If we wanted to take a shower we had to walk from the lighthouse to the reception, which wouldn't be a problem if the whole way wasn't through sand and everything was unlit at night. The permanent camper area is closed off with a barrier and fence. The lakeside restaurant is still a building site with construction noise. The reception staff were very friendly (even without William who wasn't here). The restaurant with Maximilian is good. We had a good chat with him. We saw Roger twice on the wheel loader. But he didn't have time to say hello, which we did 🤔. It is in a very nice location. We were in the middle area - very nice. What we noticed negatively, however, was the unrest on this site due to constant construction work and the constant back and forth of trucks, articulated excavators, etc. We also... noticed negatively that the boats that were "parked" behind us in the parking lot were cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner for hours on 21.06.2023, making a lot of noise (not to mention the water consumption). Cleaning the roof of the sanitary building was also very noisy. We realize that such work has to be done, but can't it be done when the campsite closes in November and there are no more holidaymakers on the campsite? The 3 boys (William etc.) were always VERY helpful and invariably nice - which unfortunately cannot be said of their colleague with the ponytail.Automaticky preložené.

We enjoyed fine food in the beer garden and the service was very friendly.
Reception was also very friendly. Check in was quick.
What spoils the mood a little are the sanitary facilities.... The problem is not that they are old. But they are always a bit grubby. Perhaps there is a woman on site who would check them and give instructions on how to clean them properly. On the plus side, the sanitary facilities will be renovated and extended at some point. However, the toilet brush holders should also be cleaned when cleaning. Furthermore, there are no lamp covers which are already covered in numerous cobwebs. We are there with dogs, at a price of 6€/day/dog you could at least offer poop bags. A few lamps on the main paths would also be useful. The whole complex looks unkempt and unloved.Far from the kingdom of heavenBooked online at short notice, probably like many people tempted by TV. Worked great, the check-in was fine. Good, you are offered a water flat rate so that you don't need shower tokens, which you then also book only to realize that you don't need shower tokens anyway. You are directed to the pitch and... given very precise set-up instructions, which are not clear when you look at the structure of the rest of the pitch. But it stands nicely. Toilet and shower containers with major deficits in terms of cleanliness and function. Water does not run off, hanger for shower is missing etc. The possibility of washing up was simply disgusting. The draining racks were totally rotten, sparred and dirty. Construction is going on everywhere and it looks very desolate in places. Everything looks somehow unloved. The crowning glory, however, is the boss, who insults the paying guest. Hospitality is written very small here, so we left immediately. Too bad about the money, 60€ a night for 2 people is no bargain and too bad about the wasted vacation time. So the great pictures on TV turned out to be an illusion for us.Automaticky preložené.
