Here you can experience the most beautiful sunset in Denmark!!!! Ideal place to continue by ferry to Norway. Book in advance during the vacation season!!! Good, clean sanitary facilities - small store (closed in June... 2014). Short walk to the center of Hirtshals. We were there again in June 2014 and experienced a beautiful sunset. Here, of course, you have to visit the Hirtshals Fyr lighthouse. Afterwards we went to the North Sea Oceanarium. There are great things to discover here. An absolute recommendation. The campsite is just great, including the sunset in the "bedroom". Beautiful place right on the North Sea. You can see the big ferries to N and S entering the harbor. The place is within walking distance or bike in 3 minutes. Great fish stores in the harbor, nice pedestrian zone and sensational oceanarium, the largest aquarium in Europe. The location is great. Like most people there, we used it as a transit site for one night because we were continuing our journey to Norway on the Colorline. All in all a good place, only the sanitary facilities are getting... on in years. The staff are friendly and there is free WLAN throughout the site. In the evening we visited the bunker museum, which is right next door. Perhaps the constant coming and going, or the wooden beam partitioning, meant that there was no real camping feeling? In any case, the staff were friendly and the sanitary facilities were simple and clean.
