"Unacceptable booking conditions, far removed from any camping ideology! - It's actually a good campsite, although not even the camping supermarket is open in the low season, but it's not far into town. We love the island of KRK, so we have to go along with the booking madness..... As I can't stand a pitch with a pine cone hail, I had to reserve a pitch without any imminent danger for our vehicles. A "special" reservation of a pitch costs €150 "just like that" - which is NOT charged. I then had a pitch without a hail of pine cones, but high water in the awning - at a bargain price! It's not the campsite's fault that the weather is bad, but the CELEBRATED FREEDOM of the campers simply no longer exists there. If the weather or anything else didn't suit you before - you moved on or went home. There you HAVE to work off your pre-paid money in STORM, RAIN and cold temperatures, which we gave up after a few days! So the vacation cost us more than any vacation before (in relation to the length of stay), because there is no money back - in case of early departure - we also got sick.... BECAUSE of this "evil" booking and payment strategy of the Valamar management, I only give ONE STAR in the overall rating - THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OPINION OF CAMPERS! Actually, you shouldn't play along, but what else can you do if you want to visit this island - THEY KNOW THAT from Valamar...........

"Large space with some shortcomings - The proximity to the old town is very good, especially if you don't have bikes with you. However, the site is populated by families with children, so it's not the best choice for campers looking for peace and quiet. What we didn't like was the small number of wash houses and the resulting traffic jam in the morning.

"Top place, but noise at night from the place - In our opinion, the place is top! Special mention must be made of the childcare, as the children enjoyed going and we as parents were able to "catch our breath". The location is also very nice. What we didn't like so much was the parking space allocated to us, which was too small for the family tent AND car. After consultation, we were allocated a parking space nearby (approx. 30m). So only a small drawback. What we didn't like at all was the (disco) noise from the town of Krk; almost every night until the early hours of the morning, sometimes until 5/6 in the morning. In the second week there was also a fair, which made the situation even worse. Unfortunately, this point rules out our return visit, at least at this time of year (August).

"Nice but expensive place in a good location - This place deserves 5 stars in terms of location and cleanliness. However, the price is far too high! Especially when the sun loungers and the water games in the sea are not free! Other 5-star campsites (e.g. Camping Val Saline, Rovinj) can do better. There are a lot of unhappy children, the water games are rarely used and staff have to be employed for them. In addition, there should always be warm water at such a price. Wasn't always the case. Too bad. The location (within walking distance) to the old town of Krk is of course unbeatable. The view of the sea from the Comfort Mare pitches is also unbeatable. The prices on the campsite for drinks and shopping are ok for Croatian vacation regions. The musical performances on site were appealing and not intrusive.

"No longer recommended - I've known this campsite since I was a child and a lot has been done in recent years, but the price/performance ratio has now become subterranean. Check in takes a very long time, pitches are allocated at random or you speak to the reception manager, but then your request is dealt with. The only answer you get from the staff is that if you pay a €150 reservation fee, they will tell you which pitches are free, which they do when you register! On our first vacation about 5 years ago, we had to decide whether to put up the tent for the children or take out the awning, and that with Premium Mare! Two years later we only got a suitable pitch by insisting and holding back the deposit in exchange for a guarantee of a pitch that was big enough, we need at least 70 square meters so not an excessively large one! This year we hoped to get a nice plot without any pressure but were disappointed again. You pay 900€ for 8 nights with 2 adults and two children over 12 and a small igloo tent. Depending on the wash house, you either get cold water for showering or you have to wait a long time because the wash houses, some of which have been beautifully renovated, are not designed for the current number of visitors. The piazza is beautifully designed and you can get everything you need in the supermarket. Conclusion for us: A beautifully laid out CP, in a great location, in principle well thought-out parking space offer (as described above, however, it is not implemented). For this price/performance category, we expect significantly more service and a more welcoming and feel-good atmosphere when registering. Other 3/4* CPs do this much more pleasantly and more comfortably for less money.
